DESCRIPTION
CamCamX is a 6x2 video mixer for live performance or webcasting which works with your Mac's built-in camera (or other QuickTime-compatible video input), movies and still picture files. CamCamX also virtualizes the iSight camera (or 3rd party webcam) in your Mac so you can use all your favorite camera applications AT THE SAME TIME. Until now, you could only run one iSight (webcam) application at a time. Now all your camera applications can be open and functional at the same time. Works with Stickam, Mogulus, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, PhotoBooth and more... CamCamX also provides iSight compatible emulation for your non-Apple 3rd party WebCam or DV camera input. Now gain maximum compatibility with your Creative or Logitech webcam. CamCamX features a Core Image input plug-in, allowing you to use the video mix in any Quartz Composer or Core Image enabled application. 100% Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard compatible.

ARMADILLU  Leopard and the new camera access API (bye bye sequence grabber) do this on their own. But CamCamX Is still a very useful solution under certain circumstances for apps that usethe old sequence grabber API to access cameras.

MCOYLE  I was expecting this app to allow me to capture the iSight camera in Final Cut, but I don't see the camera in any of the options. Sooooo... I guesss it doesn't do that. Correct?

MS.BLACK  You can use iMovie HD included with your Mac to record a QuickTime, then import it into your FCP sequence. CamCamX allows you to do a live mix in this same way.

MALEFICIO67  Sorry but this software - even for 30 $ - is a great soft !!!!! I use it as often as possible and new features added in 1.5 are simply perfect.

SAPPOROBABY  $30 for this? Help me someone. I can not stop laughing. No way. I will stick to my one app at a time solution. Apple may release something like this with Leopard.

$30? I am still laughing.

MS.BLACK  If you were staging a live event, and you wanted to do a 2-camera live video shoot, mix it live on your new MacBook Pro, simulcast it (in real time) over the web as a stream on Stickam (or Skype, Y! Messenger), and record it at the same time with QuickTime Pro for later upload to YouTube, what software/hardware would you suggest?

Please be specific as to tools/budgt so your readers can choose an alternative to CamCamX, which enables all of the above, and more.

****.

HOCO  I downloaded the trial and the image was jerky and slow compared to all my native apps which read directly from the camera. I'd be very interested in this if it ran fast enough to deliver smooth video (e.g 24 frames per second), but this demo version could not do that. I'm on a G5, dual 1.8Ghz with 2Gig memory.

MS.BLACK  Can you specify camera please? Also we have increased speed of non-Apple camera emulation in 1.5. Additionally, blending the demo logo over the final image actually is fairly time consuming.

Contact technical support with any questions please!

RTOURIS  Don't get me wrong but I thought the USSR is no more for years now...This is like referring to present time Yugoslavia, right? All things considered looks like an app which does what it says on the tin..
