DESCRIPTION

Dock Clock places a clock in your dock. It is fully customizable. Just click and hold on the Dock Clock icon in the dock and select "Preferences" from the list that appears.

The Universal dilemma: Q: Why isn't this a Universal application? A: Because REALsoftware (http://www.realsoftware.com/) hasn't fixed a problem with the REALbasic 2000 series that ruins the dock icon. I will make it a Universal application when they fix it.

Features:

  • Select your own pictures for the face of the clock
  • Aqua, graphite, and brushed metal (and many more!) presets included
  • Planet view preset is included so that you can see the progress of the light and dark across the western hemisphere
  • Circular or square face
  • Customizable colors
  • Hourly alarms
  • Quick access to the Date and Time preference pane
Known Issues: The icon flickers when magnification is on, especially if the user's custom picture is very large. If you find a bug, contact me at: tbg10101@gmail.com Note: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) does not support this software. A fix is impossible at this time. Again, Dock Clock will not run on Leopard.

    SPLUNK23  Hi, just posting to say that it does NOT flicker for me with magnification on. Maybe I'm just special?

    TBG10101  I should have stated that it usually happens on slower machines. It's just harder for them to render the dock icon.

    It should probably state that any machine running on an 800 MHz CPU or slower might have flicker issues.

    TOMIS  Ok so it has the basic functionality, but the overall design is poor. It just needs some nice graphics to look right sitting next to all my other pretty aqua icons in the the dock.

    Additionally, the website show screenshots of all sorts of preferences and setting it has. But you can't access any of these features until you register!! How can I tell if the software will do what I want unless I can actually use it. I wouldn't buy a car without a test drive, etc.

    I'd suggest going back to the drawing board. Learn ObjC and Xcode, learn a bit about elegant MacOS X interface design, and do some beautiful graphics for the clock. Then you'll have a great product. Right now it feels like someone's fun weekend project app.

    TBG10101  Thanks for the comments. I fixed some stuff and tried to make it look better but my graphics capabilities are just starting.

    I am working on a better way to do the demo right now. Something like resetting your preferences every day.
