DESCRIPTION

Sleep Display, when run, IMMEDIATELY sleeps just your display so that you can continue running your background jobs. It doesn't permanently affect your energy settings, so when you start working again, your monitor will not sleep immediately.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.0.1:
  • Energy setting changes only made to current profile (AC or battery) not both.
  • New and improved icon.
  • This version may work for people who experienced the monitor going off then coming right back on. As you can imagine, there's only so many setups I can test on my own. But, I hope this version works for everyone.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

DRDUL  Shift-Control-Eject will sleep the display, too, so there really isn't much need for an app like this any more.

JOHN SAWYER CJS  For OS 10.5, use Malcolm Hall's utility, also named "Sleep Display".

DRDUL  FYI: Doesn't work on Leopard (big bummer). Developer says that *if* he upgrades to Leopard he may develop a leopard-compatible version.

DRDUL  I use this app all the time. Works fine on a new octo-core Mac Pro with OS X 10.4.10.
