"TimeDrawer" is an automatic file versioning system. Everytime you save a file, TimeDrawer detects it and keep another copy of it. You can compare your current writing job with its past versions to see how you have modified your document. TimeDrawer backs up your intellectual writing job.

Unlike Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard, TimeDrawer won't wait to backup your files. TimeDrawer immediately save backup when it detects file modifications.

Customizable setting
You can select files to backup by location, file types, file size, etc.
You can save backup database onto your local hard drive as well as external drive.
You can restrict the database size not to surpress local hard drive.

Compare Graphically
Compare your current document with its 5 minutes ago version. Red, blue and green markers show where sentences have been changed.
*To store text content, the file needs to Spotlight

    SIMBAJUNK  Nice, simple interface, and works pretty well. Document comparison worked poorly for me, and some of my custom rules for exclusion did not work which led to too-frequent backups of common files. Having *all* available versions of a file instead of hourly (like Time Machine) is certainly an improvement.

    COPPELIUS  Excellent software for those of us who won't migrate to Leopard and Time Machine. The interface is very nice, and is not even comparable with other backup softwares. The only thing missing is the ability to make an initial backup of all the files. As I understand it, only the files modified after TimeDrawer is installed are backed up. It's nice for a version history software, but it doen't serves as a real bakcup software.

    NEIL_M  Interesting - and the gui is nicely simple - giving it a try is the best way of finding out.

    Previous comment - english is not the only language around - babelfish also works ;-)

    Remember it's a beta , it's free and the developer shouldn't have to bend over backwards to persuade you to try it.

    MNISHIKATA  I will add more information later. ...I just don't have time to make website at the moment.

    There are already big advantages compared to TimeMachine.

    1. TimeDrawer can work on Tiger.

    2. TimeDrawer does not need an external HD.

    3. I am enjoying making it.
