AB0895  FoneLink is a fantastic piece of software! It recognised my Nokias immediately and was so easy to use. I particularly like the ease of backing up, the ability to see images AND send SMS..........all from a Mac; wonderful.

LAURA1117  Fonelink recognized my phone (sony ericsson 580I) without a problem, but the syncing was not working correctly. I contacted support and with their help I was able to resolve the problem. This is a very good product. I find it to be very easy to use.

RKDUDE  I paid for and bought Fonelink in July 2008 for use with my Nokia E71 and MacBook Pro. I had a lot of problems with it not recognising my phone and such.

The support staff at Novamedia were excellent. Within days i had a solution and now with every version i see improvements. Yes there were sync issues. But they've sorted them out and i use the latest 2.1.5 version with no issues. It does everything as promised and i couldn't be more pleased.

FUELLEMANN  Hello dear customers,

I am sorry for the crashes some of you experienced. Most of them are due to a faulty firmware on the cell phones, please try the new version as it includes a workaround.

Kind regards,

Jan Fuellemann (nova media)

PMCARRION  Application crashes all the time. I tried version 2.1.3 with a SonyEricsson K800i on Mac OS 10.5.4

Contacted support several times, they were unable to fix the issue.

I still can't understand why the phone syncs properly with iSync and not with FoneLink.

Wasted money in my opinion.

FUELLEMANN  Hello,

sorry for your experience. I have heard from our support that you communicated with them, but our last message was not answered any more by you. So we tried to follow up and tested two K800i models here very thouroughly. They worked fine, as expected.

So in this case it might really have been the cell phone which is buggy. You can still contact us at mac@novamedia.de

Thank you

FUELLEMANN  Absolutly true. But we have so many users which FoneLink works fine I really want to know why it does not work for you :-) I can give you a free copy of our iSync plugins, so you can at least sync fine, if you want to?

Kind Regards,

Jan Fuellemann

ALOBI  I have tried fonelink with 4 different Phones. It does not work fine. Sometimes I am able to send SMSes sometimes not. The backup just work a little bit. Synchronizing is a mess. And its not stable at all.

The support is just around the corner in my town and they tried to help, but no solution. For me it is still a beta Version. I looking forward, that it will work in one or two years...

I am using 10.5.4 and Fonelink 2.1.3. Samsung SGH i550, Sony K750i, Sony G900.

FUELLEMANN  Hi,

I am sorry for your experience. Our programmers are back early September, perhaps you can come to us again and we look into the issues on your Mac with you together? Then drop me a mail at fuellemann@novamedia.de and we see that we can get it to work.

Thank you

DOGSUBS  I agree entirely. Fonelink is unstable (crashes after every use); unable to remember any of the settings I choose (I keep choosing no backup, but it has one every time I open it for example), the synchronisation is inept and unpredictable (sometime it works sometimes not), and finally after it has crashed as usual it locks itself into all the programmes I'm trying to synch on my MacBook Pro and so i need to restart my machine. It costs far too much for such a half baked programme and the developers should be apologising to registered users and providing an urgent fix. I intend to publicise the weakness of this program as widely as possible unless I see some improvement very soon. It is easily the most amateur piece of software I have ever downloaded. My advice is avoid at all costs and don't waste your money.

FUELLEMANN  Hello,

it would be more efficient if you contact our support team so we can actually start on a fix. We need your log files, the firmware version of your phone and more so start typing the e-mail to mac@novamedia.de and cc: to fuellemann@novamedia.de

And yes, we do have many satisfied customers where sync, transfer and the rest is working fine.

So I am very sure we get it done for you as well :-)

Thanks

DOGSUBS  Thanks Jan. Appreciate you're trying to be helpful. But a reasonable definition of a half baked programme is one which requires some users to waste their time contacting developers to make it work properly. Given the amount you're charging that should not be necessary.

SIBDJ  As a PC user, I had for many years used Nokia's PC Suite, so when I changed over to Mac I wanted somthing that would do the same things again. Initially I did have problems getting my Nokia 8600 Luna to connect my Mac (without Fonelink), iSync wouldn't even recognise my phone!

However, Novamedia wrote software for me "on the fly" to solve this problem, they couldn't have been any more help than they were.

I would wholehearted recommend this product, which has made my life easier!

AKROBAT  Well this is a very good application. I've just tested the Demo version. Minus points for a few things such as calendars not being transfered at all, spinning wheel of death a lot and the sync can take a long time.

However it's well laid out, extensive and is 20x more useful than BluePhoneElite, which I incidentally have.

Had I not been planning to purchase an iPhone this month then I would have bought this app to go along with my next phone. However iPhone it is and similar syncs are done via iTunes. I'd recommend it.

AKROBAT  Hi Fuellemann,

Thanks for your interest. I had 2 phones: both Sony Ericsson - a W550i and a W850. The W850 could sync everything except the calendar function. Although I had it set up to transfer iCal events etc nothing would show up on the phone after syncing.

The other issue is with the W550. According to your site it is a supported phone but the program keeps telling me it's not. Tried it on my PPC running Tiger and my Intel MacBook running Leopard, both clean install of the demo version. Each time setup assistant won't recognise the phone. Both phones were set up normally in the Apple Bluethooth.
