DESCRIPTION

TrackTime... Did you ever wonder, how much time you spend with your Mac and what you actually did yesterday or last week?

Are you interested which music you liked last month, how many hours you used Photoshop this week or how many times you checked your mail today?

TrackTime has the answers.

With TrackTime you can view your activities on a beautiful Timeline. You can view your activity by day or any other period. You can quickly see what matters to you through statistics for applications, music, and websites as well as for your own defined projects.

Features:
  • A beautiful interface - All your activities are arranged like in a multi-track-recording application. You can quickly see, how much time you spent on each "track". Discover forgotten music and websites in your personal history and enjoy them instantly again. Or see which music you listened to while working on your Doctor Thesis (or anything else).
  • Detailed statistics - Get a quick glance on your activities. Which are your most used applications, best rated artists or favourite websites? You'll get to know.
  • Date Range - Specify any time frame to examine. Your favorite songs last week, on yesterday's party? No problem. Play count can't do that.
  • Your projects - only two clicks away. Track working hours or your hobbies with TrackTime's easy-to-use project tracking capabilities. When you start something, simply click the project's entry in the menubar. When you stop it, do it again - simple as that. Of course you can automatically pause projects when you leave your Mac. You can also use templates to access frequent activities rapidly.
  • Fits in your workflow - You use AppleScript to automate your workflow? Great! You can easily integrate TrackTime in your workflow using one simple line of AppleScript to start or stop projects from other applications - such as iCal. Or use TrackTime to time your number crunching.
  • You're in control - Easily delete items from your Timeline or pause logging, just like Safari's "Private Mode".
  • Growl support - Get notified what happens using your own style.
  • Your Browser - TrackTime currently supports the most widely-used Mac Browsers: Safari, Firefox, Camino.

TrackTime requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and runs on both Intel and PowerPC Macs at native speed (Universal Binary).

TARO  In a word, fantabulous.

I've used this software about a week and it's worked beautifully during that time, working exactly as advertised:

A beautiful interface — yep. Not only easy to look at, but easy to understand.

Detailed statistics — yep. Haven't needed them much, myself, but I checked them out. They're there and they're clear.

And so on, you get the idea. If you want to track your apps, web and itune usage, you can do so effortlessly. If you want to track personal projects and activiites (my own focus), you can easily do that too.

And the program is very mac-like, intuitive: if you know how to use a mac, you know how to use this software.

If the product description sounds like what you're looking for, you're probably right.  (Version 1.2)

STUDIODAVE56  Well now it is OK to run this program. That little bug is fixed and in very good time version 1.11. The developer was very quick to respond and correct this issue and the program seems to work very well, Thanks Ole.  (Version 1.1)

***..

STUDIODAVE56  Don't install this app. It is very hard to remove and does not allow you to quit. It sets itself up to run at startup even if you tell it not to.

I like the idea of this kind of program but I want to be able to turn it on or off.

Fix these things and I will try it again.  (Version 1.1)

PIZZACAKE  I've only been running this app for a couple of hours but I like it. It's a very good looking app and easy to use. Why name it Hora?

Things I'd like added/changed:

-Support for tracking firefox/opera

-Does Hora connect to port 80 to get the favicon of every website you visit? I'd like a preference to turn this off.

-preference for dock icon

-Projects, I'd like to be able to add future events on a project timeline, in a simple way like you can in ical drag a box and give it a title, the box could be ghosted i.e. semi-transparent. Adding very simple planning functionality in a timeline view may widen Hora's appeal by appealing to people like me who doesn't need the complexity of say OmniPlan but would like to view events in a timeline view.

-Timeline view, be able to shrink and expand to a much greater extent, be able to see weeks, months at a time. This would support Hora's use as a simple planning app, being able to see what was planned and what you actually did.

Nice start though, well done!  (Version 1.0)
