DESCRIPTION

Classic Sounds will bring back the classic alert sound panel of Mac OS 9 to your new Mac OS X!

It contains all those classic sounds like Quack and Wild Eep. It also can install the classic sounds in your macosx alert soundbank.

WHAT'S NEW

  • Added feature: Added the Platinum Sounds.
    (new pref: switch visability for platinum sounds on and off).

  • Added feature: Added keyboard shortcuts for some menu items.
  • Added feature: Scroll buttons.
  • DeBug: If there's no Sounds folder in your user library, classic sounds will make one.

RORO01  ONLY THE INCLUDED SOUND FILES ARE USEFUL.

The only use I found for this application was to move the sound files from it's "resources" folder to "/System/Library/Sounds" folder so that they will appear in all the applications which use system sounds, like iCal - before I trashed the application.

By the way, if you want Skype sounds to be used in the same way, copy the sound files in it's resources folder to your desktop, convert the copies to AIFF files using Switch application (freeware) and move the AIFF files to "/System/Library/Sounds" folder.

FLASH1296  Nice Effort.

What it now needs is a set of links to download .aiff system sounds.
