That means when you are out of the office without a connection (say, in a plane, train, or automobile), you can keep working without missing a beat. Write email, add new appointments, edit documents and when you re-connect changes will be automatically synced to the Zimbra Server.

Zimbra Desktop is available for you to try as an alpha version. We encourage you to take it for a test drive and provide us your feedback. Current feature highlights:

  • Fast Zimbra search including Advanced Search builder
  • Support for contacts, both locally stored and GAL
  • Easy set up wizard for account configuration

****.

PCHARLES67  It has taken a while to become useful, but is coming along nicely now. I still prefer Apple Mail for my day-to-day mail, but this program is less of a headache than running iCal using CalDAV on our university system.

JPP_ZOSO  the mac client is a joke, in particular if you're upgrading from a previous version. it will not receive new mail from imap accounts, despite being "online" and despite numerous "get mail" commands and restarts. the application constantly switches back to its default view options, despite numerous changes by the user to sort mail in a particular fashion or the reorganize the panel views in a particular fashion. there is no obvious way to import mail from any type of account unless the mail is already on the server...there apparently is a command line method, but it does not retain message dates nor register messages sent by clients other than itself as being messages sent by the user, then there's the whole "can't get new messages even from imap accounts" problem mentioned previously. the database email concept is an absolute killer idea if it were implemented properly...so far the only email client to do so is opera's m2.
