  • crash fix: setting defaults for subprojects and tasks fixed
  • fix for using the F7 key trick - when the Quick Add window gets closed, previously selected app receives its focus back
  • fix for switching between iGTD and other applications: text editor fields do not lose focus
  • dates fix: start and due dates get refreshed ('Tomorrow' turns to 'Today' etc.) if you run iGTD constantly, with no restarts
  • GUI fix for aligning the context icons when using the 'huge' font size option
  • fix for MacJournal F-key trick: now it should work properly
  • fixed displaying counters for contexts with 'maybe' tasks
  • you can no longer mark maybe tasks as 'waiting for'.... marking a 'waiting for' task as 'maybe' removes the 'waiting for' status...

GUI improvements:

  • task tags are displayed in the task name column - it can be configured in Appearance preferences
  • better GUI for context icons
  • icons are displayed for subcontexts, too
  • completed tasks are displayed with strike-through font
  • configurable font size for outlines and tables - see Appearance preferences
  • configurable default calendar type - you can choose if the calendar displays the start date or due date by default after app's startup (Appearance preferences)

Security:

  • security control for syncing to iCal: you get warned if more than 5% of your items are to be deleted from iGTD - you can restore them immediately
  • new restore feature in File menu: you can restore your data from backups made by iGTD or manually ;/ul>

    Cut, copy, paste:

    • you can cut/copy tasks and paste them into contexts, projects or archive categories without having to switch to the tasks table (Paste works in outlines, too)
    • you can paste tasks from clipboard multiple times = new way to:

      a) assign contexts/projects: you can cut a task from inbox, paste it to a context, then switch to projects and paste it to a project
      b) create multiple task copies: you can copy a task and paste it several times in different contexts/projects

    Other improvements:

    • you can apply project's default settings (default context and tags) for its subprojects or/and tasks: see the project properties window
    • contact menus (Contacts field) include phone numbers from Address Book - you can display them as sticky Growl notifications or call them with Skype
    • http addresses are parsed automatically from the task name and notes - and turned into task links
    • you can also invoke the parsing manually using the Parse links command (Tasks menu, Cmd+Shift+L)
    • enhancement for Quick Tags: Alt+1...9 toggles a Quick Tag for selected tasks - Alt+Shift+1...9 replaces all task tags with a Quick Tag
    • Cmd+Alt+Return shortcut to open all task links in background (Cmd+Return opens them in foreground)
    • new command Get Info (Cmd+I) which displays context or project properties (like 'i' buttons do)
    • clicking the Growl notification about a task *always* reveals this task in iGTD
    • last backup path is saved and restored
    • an alert about restore feature displayed after the first sync to iCal added

    Fixes:

    • double click in a tasks table creates a new task at the bottom (not at the second position) if tasks are ordered manually
    • menu bar option 'Add selected...' is enabled again
    • fix for duplicating tasks - start date is no longer set to today for the duplicate
    • fix for editing new archive categories in 'Archive task' panel

    • you can hold Shift when hitting the F6 key to add an item to the current context/project/archive category (instead of inbox)
    • F-key trick for Microsoft Word - open a Word document, select some text and hit F6 - a task will be added with a link to the document and selected text

    • you can open all task links with new keyboard shortcut - Cmd+Return

    • you can promote multiple tasks to a new project at once
    • Alt+click on the task's name moves it to the top of the list (if tasks are sorted in the natural order)
    • Alt+click on the task's context name jumps to that context
    • Alt+click on the task's project name jumps to that project
    • you can change contexts or projects of multiple selected tasks using the left/right arrow keys
    • new shortcuts for task list switchers added - they are described in the drop-downs, please have a look
    • when duplicating a single task, you can edit its name immediately

    New preferences settings:

    • Automation tab: set the default name for new projects
    • Appearance tab: choose what's displayed in the iGTD icon badge - inbox count / count of items flagged / due today

    Fixes:

    • better refreshes after undo operations
    • fixed problem with priority and effort columns when setting them as visible
    • fixed linking to Text Wrangler files with paths containing spaces
    • fixed GUI tooltips
    • some minor fixes + advanced internal code refactoring

    • 'E-mail task' feature sets the message subject to the task's name (single task) or to the name of containing context/project/smart folder/category (multiple tasks)

    Fixes:

    • smart folder contents are always refreshed when switching to the To complete tab
    • smart folder contents are refreshed properly after setting the date filter for folder
    • sorting by dates no longer gets lost after using Refresh option
    • Bring to front option in the iGTD menu bar menu works OK now
    • you can drag'n'drop URLs or files to Links field for an archived task
    • sorting by children count column in the context/project chooser has been disabled
    • Apple Mail rule: you can use the ':' sign in the message subject to separate the task name and note
    • 'E-mail task' feature doesn't break for tasks whose names contain double quotes
    • corrected tooltip for Search toolbar field

DESERT CELT  This version (1.4.5.6) does not work. Cannot add anything to contexts, tasks or projects. No step-by-step instructions to get started. Buttons don't work. Very poor release.  (Version 1.4.5.6)

XPLICIT  Whoa, that's professional, download not working, website vanished. Congratulations. The developers of Things hopefully finish their application soon.  (Version 1.4.5.6)
