STEVEN GOODHEART  There's kind of a nice human story here. Check out: "Welcome Bartek! Welcome iGTD Users"

http://culturedcode.com/things/blog/2009/08/welcome-bartek-welcome-igtd-users.html

Not to mention:

"[Bartek] also requested that we give free Things licenses to everyone who donated to iGTD, and we were very happy to oblige! Everyone who donated will receive an email with one or more free Things licenses, making sure that the value of licenses will exceed the amount of money donated."

Although I'm a happy registered user of OmniFocus, I have to say that the new Things 1.2, which already reflects some of Bartek's magic, is very tempting. With someone as talented and innovative as Bartek joining Cultured Codes fine programmers, the future of Things looks bright. I'm going to keep an eye on it in the future.

LOPAN  It looks like this excellent program is dead. No updates in over a year.

Too bad. It's much better and cheaper than any other GTD program for the mac. I won't pay 50.00 for things and 80.00 for omnifocus?, give me a break. I got 10.5 for less than that.

****.

NALTS  I use version 1.4.5.6 of iGTD. I've use this program for at least a year and love it. To those that were having problems, go try again. I just check at the developers Web site is up and running fine.

NOT_THE_WATER  DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!

Using the suggested F6/F7/F8 keys, or any other hot key, will disable ALL HOT KEY combinations for EVERY app on your computer. Only a full restart will restore those functions.

Yay!

DESERT CELT  This version (1.4.5.6) does not work. Cannot add anything to contexts, tasks or projects. No step-by-step instructions to get started. Buttons don't work. Very poor release.

JRWHO  I just tried out the version 2 alpha, and I must say that I am really disappointed. I heard a ton of hype about this app to see that it's not very easy to use and has a clumsy, non-OS X like interface.

I'd take Mail's Notes and To Dos over this any day.

MACBLISS  The interface may seem a little busy at first, but it grows on you after playing around with it a bit.

Once you understand how it is designed to work -- you see how indeed very smart it is.

With version 2 you get a built in outliner/project manager and note/link manager. It's the most comprehensive and most ambitious application out there in the genre, and it's free, which is something amazing in and of itself.

With the built in contact linking system,

It can also be used as a light weight CRM too.

It seems quite usable in the latest alpha.

I am looking forward to its continued evolvement. Also note it's going to have a new name which is on the horizon, according to requests on the forum for user feedback.
