DESCRIPTION
Gmail Browser is a web browser that is dedicated to running Gmail and Google calendar. Why? Well, for me, reading email is usually a work activity, while web browsing is mostly play. And so, when I check my email, I easily get distracted by other web sites. Separating Gmail from the rest of the internet helps me concentrate.

CURATOR.SVR  Even though it's shareware Mailplane.app is better I think. It's at least more advanced. This might have possibilities if it is developed further.

why not just use mail.app to check your gmail account? that way you don't need to use a browser and risk distration. ;-)

SHOCK J  I use Mail to do exactly that, check my GMail account. You can use POP or IMAP. It works perfectly fine. Plus, Mail is not the only mail application that can check GMail. I going to have to agree that this application is totally redundant.

ASHALAN  Using Gmail with Mail (or any other standard mail client) means castrating Gmail. Gmail is loved for being just slightly more than your usual e-mail. Tags and displaying messages as conversations have become absolutely indispensable to me. The only way - so far - to use Gmail they way it is meant to be used is using the web application (in a browser or some wrapper application as gmail browser or mailplane)

EMMANUEL K.  Very nice but it seems to not block ads anymore.

It would be great to have a badge count in dock for unread message(s).

ECHOROB  With Safari 4 Preview or the latest Webkit Nighty this app becomes pointless. I have always used it been great apps but now its pointless

WIDGE34  I would use this if it block the right hand side ads when a message is opened. There seems to be a box to tick in preferences to block ads, but it does not work.

GPROV  is there any way to have gmail browser do as-you-type spell-checking? it's the only thing stopping me from using it full-time instead of a regular browser. awesome app!

DAIYI  Great little application, especially since OmniWeb and gmail don't work well together.

I did notice, however, that after upgrading to 10.4.9 that it doesn't work anymore. Opens up fine, but everything is blank in the window.

Hope there'll be a fix soon. Or should I be deleting plist files?

HARRISTYPE  Wow, that was fast. Just two days ago I commented that Gmail Browser didn't save window sizes or positions, and now, with this update, it does. Thanks to the developer for adding this.
