Radiologik DJ is the DJ live assistant specifically built for the needs of radio but very useful for all DJing needs, with the exception of club mix features. It features 3 main players and one library player, all with selectable individual audio outputs, detailed time calculations, a lot of fast and smooth iTunes integration, and Nicecast artist and title publishing. It is complemented by a seprate scheduler for full station automation.
BROADCASTER I have been using Radiologik DJ just about from the beginning beta version. I have found it to be intutive, and the more you use it the eaiser it is to run. Loading your itunes library or playlists couldn't be eaiser. One click and you're there! Little things like the advance or back 5 seconds buttons in the library player make setting talk time so easy! How many programs let you set up your play list, and calculate the total playing time even considering the change of percentage in the playing time. Thats too cool! With two main players and a third independent player you can be as creative as you wish. Considering all that is in the program I'd be happy to pay $128.00 for each license to send out several DJ's with different shows all on the same night. This program isn't designed for glitz and glitter. It is for the serious DJ that wants to do his best at a performance without worring about all the "extras" you might never use in other DJ programs. I tried Real hard to make the last beta version of Radiologik DJ crash. It just didn't happen! I have looked at Mega Seuge and DJ 1800. I settled on Radiologik DJ for the afore mentioned reasons. I think when the music scheduler is released it can only add value to an already dynomite DJ package! Radio stations take note: this software looks to be the answer to the other high priced automation programs available in the PC world, and what will probably be one of the few outstanding Radio station automation packages here in the Mac world. So here is the phrase....You don't have to take my word for it. It's shareware, download the demo for free and put it through it's paces. I really think you will like it. (Version 1.0)
TSALAGI RED As I said in my earlier review, this is a good little program, and I was ready to pay for it when the scheduler came out - maybe $40 or even $50.
I have developed a few software programs myself and I'm very aware of the effort involved here. Yet $128 seems really excessive. And the scheduler - how much more will that be?
I will be very surprised if the developer gets many people to pay this amount. (Version 1.0)
TSALAGI RED I've been internet broadcasting for a few weeks with Radiologik DJ and NiceCast. It works beautifully. I can't wait for the Scheduler to be added.
By the way, the developer says you need a 1ghz G4, but I have been running this on an old 466 Digital Audio (1gb ram) with no problem whatsoever. (Version 1.0b12)
OLIPOWER This seems to be a very promising app. It's quite stable for a beta, and works well. There are a few concepts I have to experiment more with in order to fulle understand it. However, looking forward to see the next versions.
Features I'd like to see:
Multiple mics. And the ability to route the mic through a plugin, f.e. a compressor. (Version 1.0b11)
