BlackenedPixels is an improved version of the "black screen" ScreenSaver. In addition to making your displays black, BlackenedPixels also trims the brightness control all the way down, allowing applications to run normally, but without the power consumption (and heat etc) normally associated with screensaver operation.
PSEUDO TASUKI This is exactly what a screensaver should be. Simple, low-resource and (most importantly) it actually saves your screen. Once the CRT burn-in problem was solved screensavers became toys. Backlight dimming and lifetime, however, are a new issue with LCDs. This is the only screensaver I've seen that actually does something about that. Well done! (Version 1.002)
TOMIS This is perfect. Apple should include this with every mac.
Excellent when you want to kill the screen but let processing continue, or go away for a quick second and save battery life without the sleep/wake delay. (Version 1.002)
ZAZZLE i love this screensaver. the only thing i wish i could do now would be to active fast user switching to bring up the login window when the screensaver activates. i tried using sleepwatcher, and that does work when the power management shuts off the display, but not when blackenedpixels does, so it seems the screensaver is not actually shutting off the display.
