DESCRIPTION
JIRA Client is a desktop front-end for Atlassian JIRA issue tracker. JIRA Client integrates seamlessly with existing JIRA installations and allows frequent JIRA users to save time, manage issues effectively, concentrate on execution and work offline.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.5.1:
  • Support day- and month- based values in estimate field (assume 8-hour day, 5-day week)
  • Support JIRA 4 Beta
  • Redundant "Visible To" combo box on New Issue form
  • Issue table auto-refresh should be on by default
  • Download state for issues keeps reverting to partially-downloaded
  • Time tracking comment is lost if Publish button is pressed while keyboard focus is still in comment edit area
  • Recognize "bugzilla id / import id" field type as read-only
  • Move issue fails if there's session timeout in the middle

JOHNSMITH  I'm confused as to the need for this app as JIRA users are generally always connected to the net and both interfaces (web and this client) are totally different.

GAVIN CUTSHALL  I am a frequent JIRA user, and about the only value I can see in this package is the ability to use JIRA offline. That said, I suspect that most folks who use JIRA on a regular basis would be connected to the net anyway. Based on this, I don't think $65.00 is a reasonable price for this ability. Also, unlike JIRA, the interface for JIRA Client is very cluttered, and reminiscent of a Windows application.

Still, I applaud the developer for creating a Mac OS X JIRA client. I hope that in the future, they will consider lowering the price and making a Mac-like interface.
