DESCRIPTION
PandoCalendar is a useful Mac-only program places a fully functional calendar on your desktop. The look is completely customizable. You can change the calendar font and its size, and the calendar's background color; you can center the current week (so you are always able to look back and ahead a full month at a time), display the numerical number of the weeks of the year, display the calendar with European style weeks (Monday being the first day and Sunday being the last), assign notes to any day of the year by clicking on the day in the calendar, and set alarms to remind you of time sensitive events. You can also have PandoCalendar automatically plot the days you work. Great for people who don't have a Monday-Friday work schedule.

KNOWHOWE  I love this little app too and it's been a fixture on my desktop for many years. Thanks to the developer!

Anyone noticed anything new and different in this version? Seems identical to me...

MICG  Very, very high quality Application for Mac. (It's also available for Mac OS 9 and Panther on pandacorner.com)

I have searched the web back and forth trying to find Applications for Macintosh with a Christian theme and PandoCalendar fits perfectly for

what I've been looking for! =) I love this calendar with it's Classic styled balloon notes like Mac OS 9's help balloons! It's so cool and such a blessing in my daily life especially with the C.H. Spurgeon's: Faith's Checkbook built into the App! Wow! That totally blew me away with blessings! Thank you Panda Systems, for such a blessing and an Application I finally really, really like! Did I mention it's FREE?

I cannot recommend this calendar enough. Compared to iCal, which is a secretary's calendar on steroids, this is a cool glass of water!

    Awesome!!!!

NEANISKOS  As mentioned in other comments, every midnight from Saturday to Sunday the app pops up a biblical quote. As it turns out, in the pop-up window to the left of the quote there's the app's icon: a panda bear clutching a calendar. I find it hard to suppress a giggle when, every week at midnight, the panda bear miraculously makes its appearance and starts prophesying: "And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him" (Matthew 28:9), and stuff like that. Oh, holy Panda Bear, lead me into the light of the Lord's grace!

NEANISKOS  Well, you're welcome, but the one you should actually thank (and probably worship) is the sacred Panda, of course...

COLLIN BLACKMAN  A great app - i started with Pando in OS 9 and think the current slew of features are excellent. Would not have moved to Leopard if Pando had not been compatible.

FOULGER  For those who don't use iCal (and I am One) and who don't want all the sync options, Pando Calendar offers a simple calender & to do application that is practical and elegant with a religious text to give inspiration to those who are so inclined.

KEDOS  For me, it's just not that functional. It would be nice if it would sync to/from ical calendars, because iCal simply offers a lot that you can't get from pando (eg. iPod syncing). It would be nice if Pando could act as sort of a middle man for me, so I don't have to open up clunky iCal if I don't want to.

I also think it would be nice if you could select the window to always be on top of the desktop, but not on top of other windows. I'd like it to kind of look like a part of my wallpaper. When it's on top of all windows, it's annoying.

I downloaded it, saw it's potential, and deleted it mainly because of the lack of ical integration.

EASER  Granted, there's no screenshot, but it's a good program and worth a look. The only thing you should be ready for, however, is that every Sunday at midnight, it will pop up a Biblical quote. I think that should be advertised more clearly in these postings. I don't have a problem with it. I'm not a Christian, and I simply close the pop-up window when it appears. For me, it's only an issue if one wants it to be. I find it a small tradeoff for an overall effective program.

MACNERD1984  I found this too - Very annoying having someone else's religious beliefs rammed down my throat. It's a calendar program - If I'd have wanted someone to preach to me then I'd have called a priest so the inclusion of it is inappropriate. What next? Photoshop with a call to prayer at 5am every day? Excel reminding me not to work on the Sabbath? There's no place for it and there needs to be an option which turns this off.

Apart from that it is a goo app - iCal integration would seem a natural inclusion so I have no idea why it's not in there but as a handy little app to have around (despite the dodgy icon) it's very good.

CHIPHEATER  Nice little program! Convenient, easy to use, and far better looking than iCal. Good help support too. Glad I found it.
