DESCRIPTION

MagiCal is a menu-based clock and calendar. It features a huge range of configuration options for how the time and date are displayed, and can operate either in addition to, or instead of, the built in system menu clock.

In addition to this, MagiCal features a handy drop-down calendar that can be torn off and placed anywhere on screen.

EDJM  Love having the small day of week and date badge in the menu bar, it looks nice and fits in well with the Apple icons. The drop-down calendar is a big plus. Thanks for updating it for Snow Leopard!!

FOGCITYNATIVE  Wonderful little application; but V 1.1r1 does not function properly under OS X Snow Leopard.

While it doesn't crash, it also doesn't work. The calendar will pop up, the cursor is visible and it will highligght the dates or the "i" info icon used to set preferences.

But actually clicking on anyhting does not work; nothing bad happens, but it just doesn't work. The bug is confirmed here:

ICEN  I am surprised at just how much I used to use the tear off calendar. Perhaps I didn't value it enough & took it for granted! A lesson for life somewhere there.

I look forward to a fix for Snow Leopard.

MACUPDATE ADMIN  That has been my experience as well. Also, the drop-down calendar does not show as it should when I click on the date/time in my menubar. Not using this anymore until it gets cleaned up a bit.

DOUGWARD  Did exactly what I wanted to. My only issue is that when I have it just displaying the time, with the sub-pixel anti-aliasing turned off, it's very particular about where I click on it. I have to be careful to click the numbers of the time exactly or the menu doesn't show. Not a big thing, really.

TRONDAH  Wow, there seems to be a new version of magical every day, how much work can be done on a clock? :) No criticism though! Just funny :)

DEMOSTHENES  A better question would be "how many bugs can there be in a clock?". Lots, apparently ;-)

TALLIS  Works great on Snow Leopard (except it doesn't open iCal when I click on a date).

Is a great replacement for iClock that I'd been using before but is outdated.

I especially like the ability to choose the colored icon -along with any color, any font- even though Apple may have chosen to only encourage black and white (or grayscale) icons.

ERIC WOEHLER  Under 10.6.1 some prefs dont work. I can't change the text to a custom colour nor can I change the order of date/time fields. Other prefs seem to work ok. Unsure about reported memory leak - no evidence for me.
