DESCRIPTION
Music Assistant is a utility to help you set a tempo and tune your instruments. The metronome mode has a range of 40 to 210 beats per minute. The tune-up mode provides three choices: hear 440 Hz (the A above middle C on a piano), hear any note on a full size piano, hear notes to tune instruments. In addition, the user can tune using LucyTuning and Offset by Cents methods. The utility includes default information to tune instruments and you can add, delete and change this information (Instrument Data window accessible from the menu bar) which is saved between sessions. Music Assistant is Universal Binary.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.1 adds the capability to see flashes (vice hear clicks) in the Metronome Mode and use pitches other than the standard 440 Hz for A4 notes in the Tune-up Mode.

    ZECA MORAES  The app fulfills its purpose in a very (too much?) simple interface. It misses a mute sound/flashing blink feature. Surprisingly, it has a very sophisticated tuning aid feature, with even two different microtonal tuning systems, but lacks other pitch references than the north-american A440 (you can do that using the Lucy system, though), and has no other choice but the A as reference. But from the bunch of metronome apps I downloaded to try, seemed me the best one. Has much space to grow.

    PAUL YOUNG  Version 2.1 adds the capability to see a flash instead of hearing a click. Version 2.1 also adds the capability to choose the A4 pitch from a drop-down menu.
