GMAX  IMO, not worth $20. Registration hassles are a deal breaker.

XYPHER  Wish they'd updated Real Pool for OSX. That's what you call a real simulation environment.

DNELSON  No, no, and no. I can't even finish a game on the demo before it shuts it off! I don't know anyone who would buy a game that doesn't come with an even decent demo.

FOTODIVR  OK... I bought his lovely little game to waste some time - so I installed it on my laptop.

It was a great kick. I bought a new laptop... installed this POS on my new laptop - (the old one went to one of the guys I work with) - and I brought the old laptop to new - as in the Welcome window new... all other apps (including this one) wiped clean.

I decide I am going to run MacPOS on my new laptop. I use the same email address and rego number (no where on the website does it say that the copy you buy is tied to one machine & EMAIL ADDRESS - FOREVER and if you buy a new registration number (which I did - just to play it fair) and have it sent to the same email address that you cannot use it on any other machine than the OLD machine that was originally registered to that email address! So, I have to get e new email address just to keep these (oh I want to swear so bad right now!!) "duh-velopers" happy.

Oh, I also wan to load it on my Mcpro - so I can waste time on a 30" monitor too...

Easy - yes? NO - Have ot hve a seperate email addres to register the other machine to.

What a phuquen waste of time !!!! For $25 USD. I think I'd rather eat nails!

Oh, I wrote a letter. No response. they sure were haoy to take my money twice.

$10 first time and $15 the second time.

Am I pi$$ed - yes!! Why - because as slick as their website is an as good as the programme is - the registrtion process is a pain inthe a$$.

I have a $13,000 scientific analysis applicationthat I can run on three machines - that al it requires is I enter the rego number - do a send back and "boom!!!" I am a happy user on all three machines!

Why is this so friggen hard?

    HURRICANEFL  DON'T BUY THIS SOFTWARE!

If you change the hard drive in your mac or get a different mac, you will have to purchase another license. I had to purchase another license to get it working again on the same mac. When I asked for assistance to correct errors and inability to unlock the game with my license that I paid for, I was ignored.

This is totally ridiculous and just greedy.

BRUSETH  Hi Huricaneefl - Try contacting them again maybe. It's a hassle, I know, but I just got a new iMac a couple of days ago after my old one died and when I contacted them to retrieve my old serial number for MacPool, they sent it to me within hours. It didn't work at first, claiming the number was already registered on another machine, but when I emailed them about that, they replied real quickly and apologized because they forgot to reset the serial number. I hope this works for you. Best of luck. Ken B.

LEO SPILL  Well I brought this 4 months ago with a two license deal for $15 - seems to have gone up a tad since then.

No way to turn off 'version checking' or whatever you like to name 'calling home'

Now if you could change the angle/viewpoint or have replays of 'great shots' or set up a five game series etc...

Don't know about 'hours of entertainment' but then again games like this are thin on the ground for Mac users - So this unfortunately is the best sim of the great 'money game' you are going to find.

MOOG MODULAR  Ignore my previous review of 5.2 below.

Then I was not a seasoned user of this app.

I've had it many months now and quit using it due to the incredibly huge number of bugs it had.

Upon downloading 6.0.0 there's even more.

Now practice games never end. Vers 5.2 never did that.

There's still no restart button, so now the user must quit the app and relaunch it to do another practice game.

If one chooses the settings menu after moving their mouse (and thus the cue ball), the ball is placed where the mouse last was, forcing the user to shoot from there or again, restart the entire app.

Also unlike 5.2, the user must endure an audio sample each time.

Bakno doesn't publish release notes or bug fix lists either.

Fun for a while, but all the bugs are frustrating.

TTLCNTRLPRINT  MacPool is a good looking pool simulation, although it a shame that it isn't more playable. It has a lot of good features but again it's slow and very frustrating.

Bakno's Billiards application is much better, but after purchasing MacPool the guys at Bakno aren't prepared to provide a discount for Billiards.

    Poor customer service.
