FREMON  How to make QuatzClocks work under 10.6.1:

-Go to /Applications

-Find System Preferences (.app) and Get info

-tick "Open in 32-bit mode" checkbox.

IVANOVITCH  What an absolute shame. My most favourite screen saver, and the author has long since disappeared. A pity, since it won't run at all under 10.6.1...

Wish I could find an alternative which is just as pretty.

ERIC WOEHLER  Performance not so good under 10.6 Snow Leopard - transparent background is now opaque. Different appearance but not as useful under 10.6 as under 10.5

DRDUL  Best clock app I've found. Too bad the developer appears to have disappeared, but fortunately it still works well with two years after the last version was released.

HENRIKTEKNIK  There is a similar free app, called Focus ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11356 ). I won't say that it's necessarily better than QuartzClocks (they're slightly different, offering some features that the other one doesn't have).

Check it out and see for yourself, which one you'd prefer.

QUBEX  I really don't know what to say without sounding banal, but these clocks are just shockingly beautiful, pure aesthetic joy.

They're "just" clocks, but they're utterly perfect. I almost wish I could reach into the screen and touch them.
