DESCRIPTION
Universal Checker helps you to SCAN and indentify Universal/X86/PPC executables/libraries.

Pro version allows UNLIMITED scan results and SAVE results to file.

[Why use this?]
With the technology of Rosetta, users can run universal app, i386 app and even ppc applications without knowing what they are.
To be a smart user, you may want to know what the kind of the executable/library is since:

  1. You may want to know what kinds the appliations on your machine are. Then you may update the ppc versions to universal versions.
This app can SCAN your disk very FAST for you and list the results for you! Just ONE click.
  2. sometimes, an application takes long time to load and is slow to run, it may be a ppc app on x86 machine.
  3. You know what? For a single applicaton, it may contain a lot of executables, and, some of them may be ppc or i386 only.
  4. As a developer, you may need to deliver different targets with different architectures. So, use this to make everything is right.
  5. What architecture the binaries in your system folder are? Honestly, some is still PPC on your Intel machine. Cannot believe that?
[Special features]
  1. Scan! Scan! Scan! no need to use whatever slow method or any funky tool. Image you may have thousands to check...
  2. FAST algorithms for scan and indentifying.
  3. PRINT or save your whole results!

COBRA2003  Forgot to mention, the previous comment was copied over from their site.  (Version 1.2c)

COBRA2003  1. We claimed on our website about the icon issue. We will update it anyway.

    2. This is *more* than the system profiler. For some users, they may be the same. But, the biggest problem is System Profiler doen't cover all the binaries and especially general libraries. Thus, this more powerful than that. Why did we develop it? We mostly use it to verify our builds of various libraries and search for outdated libraries on the system. :-)  (Version 1.2c)

WCITYMIKE  Hm. Four dollars for something Apple builds into the system. (System Profiler, click on "Applications" item beneath "System," look at the 'Kind' column.) Greedy a bit, are we?  (Version 1.2c)

MARIUS_TH  That icon comes from the Allbook icons collection (Library icon), not so sure you should stick it on your app.  (Version 1.2c)
