DESCRIPTION

Posterino... With a focus on ease-of-use, Posterino creates life posters, photo collages, frames, postcards, greeting cards and contact sheets from digital images. Posterino does the hard work while users just have to fine tune the results.

Posterino offers a variety of stylish templates with grids of identical or odd sized containers. With a single click, the application will fill containers with random images automatically, or for more control, the user may Drag and Drop images manually. Posterino also sports a built-in layout generator which can automate the process of creating and saving custom grid templates.

"If you want to create a collage of your favorite photos and put it on a poster, is the slickest and easiest way to get the job done." MacWorld Review - August 07

At any time users may change the size and shape of individual containers as well as adjust the placement of each image within its own container. Posterino provides options to send an image directly to iPhoto, Flickr, Mail or save it on the hard drive.

Feature highlights include:

  • Various templates for posters, photo frames, postcards, greeting cards and contact sheets
  • Send documents via e-mail
  • Integrated Image Picker to browse and choose images from iPhoto, Aperture, or a folder on disk
  • Auto-selection and auto-placement of images
  • Export documents to iPhoto, Flickr, or local disk
  • Live image editing: crop, rotate, skew
  • Changeable image border properties: width, color, radius, shadow
  • Document layout and size can be changed to fit users needs
  • Built in layout generator user defined number of images
  • Users can create own templates
  • Automatic software update
  • Language support: English, German, French, Dutch, and Japanese

Creating an eye-catching Life Poster is as easy as choosing a template, a iPhoto album and hitting a button. Posterino will place, crop, enhance and render the images into a poster. The ease with which it's possible to insert photos into templates makes Posterino particularly suited to both casual users and professional photographers alike, and a perfect compliment to Apple's iLife suite. The uses for projects are only limited by the imagination.

STEVE R  I absolutely love this app. Recently I created a website for a mailing list's longtime anniversary and members sent in photos of themselves that I made into a poster to upload to the web. It was easy enough to change the size of the allotted squares to fit group pictures, ie customise the templates offered. Once the poster was created, I took screenshots that I then combined to make banners for the webpages. Everyone was impressed with the results. I purchased the app as part of a bundle, which is the main reason I purchased the bundle. I may not use the app on a daily basis but that doesn't take away from my enthusiasm.

BIGVEE  This program is useless. It is not user friendly and I found it really hard to change background colors. Moreover, there are very few templates for posters. The worse thing of all though is you can't print the posters yourself. You have to send them off. I tried to print the posters through Preview and through i-photo but neither worked. What a waste of money and time.

GAINESTOWN  Doesn't seem to work with mail.app in 10.57 Nehalem environment. Click on 'mail' does seem to render something but isn't communicating with the mail app. Quite sad.

ROBERTCOOGAN  I bought this waaaaaaay back, and my registration ran out. Great app, but one thing that bugs me...the dev could make it much more successful if they made it web-based. I use it now but only on occasion. I can see most users buying what it can offer on the same basis, but only as a novelty item. As a permanent app, no. The average user can't make much of it that way. But I wish the devs would expand it...it is such a great concept if they sold what it can do on a per service basis it would be better.

This isn't a negative criticism! It really is a good idea..., but needs to be expanded (access-wise) without the associated cost.

TECHCHICK99  The running MU Promo brought me back to Posterino. I bought it a long time ago and didn't use it for a long time. The possibility to create a huge photo collage is great with this app. I made tons of photos in the last couple of months and created a great poster for our bedroom yesterday.

Posterino was easy to handle and the collage was created just like this.

Thanks!

BENGT77  I haven't used Posterino, but for the people wanting to use either Posterino or PostCard solely as an iCards alternative, there is PopCard.me: . It does almost everything iCards used to do and be. It offers a simple web interface where you can select standard pictures to make your own greeting card, the text on which will be nicely anti-aliased. When sent, the receiver only gets a JPEG of the card you sent, just like iCards. There's one difference, however, which makes PopCard.me even better than iCards: it's connected to flickr, meaning you can make a card from ANY flickr photo. Very nice.

I found the service a little while ago, while searching for good iCards alternatives (well, not alternatives, iCards is long dead).

TERSKAC  After using Posterino a few years I still think it is great. Don't hesitate to try it. I have a few programs that I think are really innovative and this is one of them.

F451  I am interested in this app, but here is no way to utilize the neat postmark watermark feature unless you use their postcard service. Too bad as I would like to see on the other means of exporting.

F451  I need to clarify a bit more...I would like to see the postmark without the need to have a postage stamp. Sorry.

FUNJOY  Seems ridiculous to charge for electonic postcards. Do yourself a favor and spend $5 on 'Postcard' and make as many Apple iCard-like postcards as you like.

MACSTERDAM  Seriously underrated, I think, and should be part of iLife. I use it all the time and feel 5 stars doesn't do it justice - it really is that good. So here, another 5 stars, both for the developer and the software!
