DESCRIPTION
iTunes Alarm turns your Mac into the most fully featured alarm clock you've ever owned. It'll gently put you to sleep then quietly do the same for your computer. When its time to wake up, it'll wake the computer first, and then rouse you from your slumber with whatever music or radio station you choose. You can even use it to seamlessly change from one playlist to another, changing the mood at a specific time (a useful tool when its time for your guests to leave.) Now with an unlimited number of nameable alarms!

JIC  A very good program, but it has a problem: You need to type your password when installing it, in order that the program can awake the computer when the alarm runs. But if you make a mistake typing the password, there isn't any menu thats allow you to re-enter it. How can this issue be solved?

STORMCHILD  This would be ideal for me if the sleep function would just stop playback in iTunes, instead of making my entire computer sleep, as I usually leave tasks running overnight, which I obviously don't want interrupted.

I see that you can create "alarms" that stop playback, which might do what I want, but that means I have to calculate when the "alarm" should trigger based on the current time and the amount of time I want it to play, and basically defeats the purpose of having a sleep timer. I just want to set it to turn off the music in 90 minutes. There's no way to do that without also making your computer sleep, and waking up to find all the tasks you left running didn't get done.

The interface is cluttered, confusing and unpolished. The UI for creating and editing alarms, for example, is pretty awful; there must always be at least one alarm in the list, but you can't edit any of the properties of an alarm after it's been created, except its name. So you must first create a new one (and get all the settings right, cause you won't be able to change any of them), and only then can you remove the default one from the list.

Sure, you can't argue with free, but considering it doesn't really do what I want it to do (and makes it frustrating and difficult even to use it for its intended purpose), I'll have to find something else that does, even if I have to pay for it.

BARISTABRIAN  I tried authorizing the "Wake From Sleep" option. Unfortunately, I found a bug that interprets NO password (which is how my User/Administrator Account is set up) as an "Incorrect Password."

This renders the program useless for me.

Too bad. I hope the developer gets it fixed; the program has possibilities.

STUDIODAVE56  I have used this for years and could not do without it. I listen to music when I go to sleep and the music fades out at the rate I set. Then It fades in when I want to wake up as fast as I want it to fade up. It works great and has never missed a wake-up call.

This app is great.

L008COM  Awesome little free app. Does what it says its going to do. Does it simply, no extra fluff, no problems. Set alarms. Alarms work. What more could you ask for? Well you could ask for an alarm feature built into itunes, but this is the next best thing!

NORRY684  I just downloaded this... and it looks like a great little piece of software. One thing came to me though, that this would be better as a widget

FLYBOY  This little application works. Setup is very simple. As the name implies, iTunes wakes you with the tracks you desire at the exact time you choose. It could not be easier. I have wrestled with Alarm Clock Pro for a long time, trying to keep it updated. I have had nothing but frustration with it and it cost you $20. ITunes Alarm is free and does the job beautifully. This morning my new Intel iMac waked from sleep and I was then awakened by George Strait, at the time I had set. Beautiful way to start the day. Great!
