DESCRIPTION
The Unarchiver is a much more capable replacement for "BOMArchiveHelper.app", the built-in archive unpacker program in Mac OS X.

The Unarchiver is designed to handle many more formats than BOMArchiveHelper, and to better fit in with the design of the Finder. It can also handle filenames in foreign character sets, created with non-English versions of other operating systems. Supported file formats include Zip, Tar-GZip, Tar-BZip2, Rar, 7-zip, LhA, StuffIt and many other more or less obscure formats. It is localized into Japanese, German, Spanish, French, Portugese and Russian.

JON55  So, is this still in development? I see it says there's a "real" update coming. I hope so, I really like this app and want to see continued development. Keep up the good work guys!  (Version 1.6.1)

REZA666  I tested SimplyRAR which did not work at all so i had low expectations but this program works really well.

What i like is that i can select several files and unrar them at once.

XARIK  It works well with everything I've encountered so far except for password-protected .7z files. It chokes on them completely and gets stuck at the progress bar without even giving me a window to type in the password. Other than that, I haven't run into any trouble. For the moment, though, I've been using 7zX to deal with those problem files, and they work just fine.  (Version 1.6.1)

INOTES  Rar archives with password protection fail with a error message "Contents of this file can not be extracted with this program."  (Version 1.6.1)
