EDENWAITH The basic principle behind AddMovie is simple, but wonderful and useful. I've been searching for a utility to easily stitch a couple of movie files together, and none of the software I already had was doing the trick. Unfortunately, I feel that the interface is somewhat kludgy and it doesn't always flow as well as it could. I first expected the Add button to add movies to the list. The Add button actually combines the movies together, so that button should probably be named something more appropriate, like Merge, or Save Movie. I was also looking to see if there was a way to click on a menu item or button to get an Open File dialog to add movies. That doesn't exist either, movies have to be added by dragging and dropping into the main window. When I did drag and drop my files into the list, they were scattered in the list, and not sorted as they appeared in the Finder, which struck me as odd. Fortunately, there is a Sort button, but that the files ended up jumbled in the first place seems odd to me. And when I tried to reorganize the list by moving some items around, the program locked up on me. One feature I'd love to see would be a Finder-like column view which would allow one to preview each movie clip listed in the table, which would make it easier for someone to determine which video is which when sorting them out in a particular order. So did this utility do the job? One set of movies I put together flowed together wonderfully, no problems at all. Another set I put together seemed to lock up when trying to transition from one movie to the next. If you need a simple utility for a one-time job, this application should do the trick for you.
