MISHA I'd bet the developer is French, despite showing the english versions of the app... tampon=buffer in French, so not quite as bizarre. (Version 1.3.8)

TOM.25 Yes, you won, I'm French :-) , and proud least for 2 years but this is another problem. I should have done a screencapture with my home folder but I forgot to change from my tests folders. (Version 1.3.8)

TOM.25 I changed screencapture since this has been wrote. (Version 1.3.9)

G4JAY Does not work for me. Syncing one folder from my Mac Pro to My Macbook. There is a newer file on the Mac Pro. The log says it copied said file, yet when I open the file on the Macbook it was not the new version. I also noticed every time I sync, the log shows it copying the same files every time. Time for me to find another solution. (Version 1.3.6)

TOM.25 As usual … you're in Simulation mode. (Version 1.3.6)

XENOPHILE This was never an issue for me, but perhaps you could have STF notify the user more forcefully when in simulation mode. BTW, thanks for such a great app! (Version 1.3.7)

TOM.25 My email is on my web site, click the Home to go on the main page and then click the bird. For your problem, maybe you downloaded SyncTwoFolders while I was uploading the newest version. Please try to download it again. (Version 1.3.5)

SCHMYE BUBBULA Downloaded again just now directly from the developer's website. Crashed with the same SyncTwoFolders.crash.log error. (Version 1.3.5)

TOM.25 I can't write my email here because I receive enough spam like that, but feel free to write me using my website as describe in previous review. I didn't received any other remarques like yours, I don't know what's your problem is. The last version of SyncTwoFolders (v.1.3.5) works weel with my 2 Mac INTEL. I didn't test the PPC version on my old eMac G4 and PowerBook G3. I will do it tomorrow. (Version 1.3.5)

CRAGGLES The old adage 'you get what you pay for' is usually correct. So when you come across a FREE app, you should normally be quite wary. I have tried many different backup/syncing apps to keep a usable backup (not an archived/incremental backup but something I can work on with my Laptop while my Desktop was otherwise busy) on my network drive of my work files and none matched the ease of use of SyncTwoFolders. Obviously, none matched it's price either! I don't know how it can be given away for free and I initially thought that it it was an old app that was no longer being developed or supported. That was until I needed support and was instantly given it. Regular updates adding some great new features rivalling the most expensive options out there proved my initial scepticism wrong again - and I was glad to be proved wrong in this case! We have total synchronisation, adding the target's files to the source folder or adding the source folder's files to the target. Automatic deletion of files based on their name or starting characters (which is ideal for not dumping multiple invisible files on the Mac onto a PC disk) and there's even a Batch option where you can carry out multiple syncs all at once. As if that wasn't enough, in the current version (1.3.5b3) there's even a timer that you can set for the Batch syncing periodically without the need to manually fiddle anymore. The only thing it's missing (which are really little things) is a progress bar to see how long it's going to take (although you do have the finder copy window for progress), Growl support and Sparkle (for automatic updating from within the app instead of downloading a new copy and then replacing it manually). I love this app - mostly because the compromises you'd normally make in your expectations to use a free app don't apply here whatsoever! I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd gladly pay for this app if it weren't free. Thank you Robisson! (Version 1.3.5b3)

PABLITO Amazing piece of software. Very useful to sync since the pen-drive files to a complete home folder. I am glad it's free; the developer is a gentle and a very accessible person. I hope it keeps evolving .. Congrats. (Version 1.3.5b3)

WALLYDOG This is a reply to TOM.25. I can't figure out how reply directly to him. I can guarantee the files are identical. They were copies made just minutes before I tested SynchTwoFolders. My remarks about the language weren't meant to criticize your English, and I appreciate your effort to translate. However, for me, a native English speaker, some of the language was very awkwardly worded. "Source up Target" would be a good example. I've read the tool tip half a dozen times and I'm still not sure exactly what "Source up Target" means. I think it means that the target folder will be updated with all new and modified files, but no files will be deleted. But it's not clear. The speed of the program was fine. Again, thanks for your efforts. I hope you continue to update SynchTwoFolders for those of us with PPC Macs. p.s. I can provide you with specifics if you want, but I'm not sure how to get you my email address. (Version 1.3.3)

TOM.25 My email address is in the about SyncTwoFolders window in SyncTwoFolders menu. There is a short description of SyncTwoFolders in this window. That's why this about window can be opened from the help menu too, I wrote "Please read about menu". In this same ("no") Help window, you've a link to the FAQ. Each time I had a person who wrote me about the files regards as different as they were identical, it was because the use a network disk. I don't know why, but the system add sometimes a few seconds when it copy a file. If you look at the modification date, they should differ of 10 or 20 seconds. If not, and if the name is effectively the same (no space in one of the file or invisible characters but it should be impossible), I would be very surprise. Then why only those file and not all if there's a bug in my program, as it's the same code used with a loop for each file? I was a little exceed yesterday but I worked hard for 3 days on MyPopBarrier to add features and correct some minor bugs. (Version 1.3.3)

WALLYDOG Following is my brief experience with SynchTwoFolders. Please note that I'm using the PPC version. I love the idea of this program. So I downloaded it and ran a test. I made a copy of my work folder, then added one file and modified another in the original folder. I then ran a simulated synch, using the original folder as the "source." SynchTwoFolders correctly identified the two files that needed to replaced. However, it also identified four other files as needing to be replaced for reasons I don't understand. The identified files are identical in creation and modification dates, and haven't even been opened in several years. This is obviously not acceptable. Also, I don't know if the devlopers are native English speakers, but the language they use is confusing to put it mildly. Finally, the results window is very hard to read. So my search for a simple, cheap program that will reliably synch two folders goes on. (Version 1.3.3)

TOM.25 Are you sure your files are identical? I suppose there is some seconds of difference, read FAQ. What me I find not acceptable, it's to give free a program I made for myself because some people find it usefull, and many of those persons were English speakers and, as I'm French, I waste my time to try to make an English version, but it's not enough!!! Does SyncTwoFolders quick enough???? Because if not, as I can't make it run faster maybe can I buy you a newer quickest Mac?! (Version 1.3.3)

IAMDORIAN "Where's the PPC version?" What kind of comment is this? Here's a developer who is selfless enough spend his time writing and then constantly improving a very useful FREE software application, and you cannot understand why he does not continue a parallel development for an old hardware platform? Just a suggestion, but perhaps you might spend YOUR "spare" time working to buy a new Mac, or provide the developer with yours services (for free), so that he has the "spare" time to re-compile this program for others. A hearty thanks to the developer for this work. :::tipping my hat to you::: (Version 1.3.2)

TOM.25 Sorry, effectively, as I moved the PPC version on my second website I forgot it. It's ok now. Note for those who downloaded the INTEL version before this review that I re-uploaded the INTEL version too (I did a very minor change without change version number). And happy new year ! :-) (Version 1.3.1)

ELEGRAPHY I was looking for a simple folder synchronizer this afternoon, and this one showed up as a new update in today's MacUpdate. I immediately download it and fire up the app, it worked as advertised. Very useful if you look for a simple folder merger to sync two folders mixed with both new and old downloads. (Version 1.3)
