OUTER  Once you get through how to register and pay in Japanese, the biggest problem is how to get yourself removed from their Japanese mailing list ... still working on that one.

It _is_ real MahJong, albeit with its own somewhat inflexible scoring system - but hey! - that's what distinguishes one MahJong parlor from another, after all.

OUTER  CORPSECORPS: Is there a trick to getting through the secure payment site? For some reason it never gets around to asking me for credit card information before I run out of Japanese buttons to try pressing :-(

CORPSECORPS  I don't understand the recommendations for other software.

THIS application plays the poker-like game "Mah Jong" which is played in Asian countries, and for which there is a League in the US.

All of the *suggested* programs only play a simplistic solitaire matching game which originated under the trade-mark "Shang-hai" some years ago, and uses Mah Jong tiles. In fact, some don't even have *that* minor resemblance as they've chosen to go with other graphics on the tiles.

They are in no way "Mah Jong"!

IMPISH  This version appears to be Japanese Modern. I play Chinese Official only, so I can't evaluate how well this program plays its Japanese-style MJ.

If you prefer other styles of MJ, try the online MJ site, "Mahjongtime.com" They offer 5 different versions/styles and you can play against live people from around the world.
