DESCRIPTION

The Unofficial BBC Radio Widget plays all of the BBC radio feeds from your Dashboard, and puts schedule information at your fingertips.

WHAT'S NEW

Version 4.11:

Added new RealPlayer streams for national stations (after the BBC apparently changed their minds about removing them)
Fixed compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4.
Widget falls back to Flash if RealPlayer is selected but not installed.
Flash is now default for all stations.
Multiple copies of the widget can now be opened and operated independently, remembering the station each is set to.
Many more enhancements.

REQUIREMENTS

Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later, PPC users will need RealPlayer 10 or later; Intel users need 10.1 or later.

RealPlayer available here; follow the "Previous versions" link to get v10, which avoids the audio dropouts associated with v11.

	Dec 7 2009	NICK COLLINGRIDGE Seems to be something broken here. When I try and play a station the progress wheel spins round for a while and then just stops. If I switch to the Finder there is a window in the background with the title "Adobe Flash Player security", and some text in it referring to the widget but with no buttons or indeed any other way of interacting with the dialog. Needless to say I don't get to hear anything either! (Version 4.11)		0

	Oct 8 2009	MONKEYJUNKEY RealPlayer v11.1 seems to be working fine with this widget. Until now, we had to use RealPlayer v10 because v11.0 produced audio-dropouts. But I tried 11.1 and had no issues so far. Maybe the developer can give a quick note to confirm this and update the "requirements" section. (Version 4.11)		+1

	Sep 29 2009	BLUESTAR Great widget, love the BBC. Since RealPlayer is pretty much dead. I can't see why they can't switch to Flash player or some other streaming audio format (mp3?) built into Quicktime/ Flash. I resent having to install stupid Realplayer just for this. (Version 4.11)		+1

	Jun 16 2009	MOOGAN Finally gets around the Realplayer limitation meaning you can close the Dashboard and continue to listen. Excellent little widget includes all the regional BBC radio stations and a mini browser showing the schedule for the playing station. (Version 4.0)		+3

	Mar 31 2009	MONKEYJUNKEY I really like this widget. Very quick and very simple. But am I the only one with some trouble? I can't connect to the World Service (I'm in germany, don't know if that matters). It worked this morning, than the stream suddenly stopped. Tried Rebooting but that didn't help. I use v3.4 on an MBPro OS 10.5.6, RealPlayer 10 is installed. All the other streams work. I can't figure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions? (Version 3.4)		+1

MONKEYJUNKEY Working again. OK folks. Don't ask me what i did. I didn't change anything. Was away a few days. Came back and it's working again. Maybe the stream was down for a while? Whatever, thanks for this extremly helpful tool!

ANDY ALLCORN If you get audio dropouts, please see the note about using RealPlayer 10 instead of 11. Or consider using the widget on the desktop in Dashboard developer mode. Thanks.

	Sep 21 2006	IZZAT I'm quite pleased with this widget. Plenty of stations, both national, regional and local. A tad slow when changing the stations, but it might have to do with connecting servers. I can live with it though. It would also be nice if we could change the stations from the widgets front and maybe a quick pick of a few favorite stations. I'm also hoping for a widget for RTE ;-) Nice work Hawkman, thanks. (Version 2.2)		+1

It works smoothly on my MacBook running 10.4.6 One Problem: If a put more than one of this widget on the dashboard and set each to a different station, they all play the same station (The last station I set). I guess I'm stuck with changing the radio station in preference menu. Thanks for a great widget! (Version 2.1)		0
