DESCRIPTION
Pure Vinyl is the first software of its kind to directly link audiophile-caliber analog vinyl playback and the advantages of high-resolution digital audio reproduction. When used with a quality audio interface, Pure Vinyl is capable of providing stunningly dynamic, detailed music reproduction, faithfully preserving and conveying all of the music contained in the grooves of your vinyl records.

Pure Vinyl uniquely combines a fun and intuitive "scratch" style grab-and-spin editor with realistic, "virtual vinyl" platter images, rendered from the digitized audio.

* Play / record at 44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16 or 24 bit. Can output directly to losslessly compressed file format, and can record at 88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz 24 bit while simultaneously creating 16 bit / 44.1 kHz CD format file

* Use the high sample rate copy for later playback that’s indistinguishable from the original vinyl, while avoiding expensive stylus wear, and avoid repeated handling of delicate, irreplaceable vinyl records

* Built-in, professional quality 64 bit sample rate converter with choice of several SRC algorithms (trading quality for speed) for creating 16 bit / 44.1 kHz CD format versions of high sample rate (88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz) audio files. Includes optional adjustable noise shaped dither for word length reduction

* High quality 64 bit RIAA vinyl correction curve, intended for playing / recording through a professional microphone preamplifier, instead of a conventional phono preamp

* Unique, fun “grab and spin” track editor (international patents pending) uses “virtual vinyl” disc images created from the audio information

* ZEPHRR zero-phase-shift rumble reduction filter with a cutoff slope of up to a remarkable 96 dB per octave, with adjustable cutoff frequency

* Includes 64 bit Upsampler for the highest possible quality playback of CD quality tracks from your iTunes playlist through your high quality audio interface at 24 bit / 96 or 192 kHz

* Built-in, adjustable (frequency and slope) 64 bit digital stereo crossover for connecting bi-amped stereo or mono subwoofer

"I love to listen to my records with Pure Vinyl... After I connected the cartridge, the sound became much more 3D and the reverb tails are much longer and wider, also the dynamics are bigger. My cartridge is the Van Den Hul MC Two Special mounted in the SME titanium tone arm." - Comment from a professional recording engineer / producer.

BRENTRN  Hidden among one of the worst web sites I've seen is a link to the price of $229. Professional-grade software should have a professional-grade web site. I worry when a company has to be so elusive about what the software costs. You'll have to decide if they're claimed improved sound quality is worth the price.

XYPHER  I'm not denying the calibre of this app, but the pricing is a joke.Try Golden Records instead;

It performs many of the same functions for a fraction of the price!

BEDOUIN  What makes this so special that it's $129? Just curious.

I have a turntable, receiver, and iMic attached to the receiver's tape out connection. Clicks and pops can be filtered with something like Audacity for free, if I ever desired. An iMic and phono preamp will cost you $60 or less if you're thrifty.

What exactly does this do? I don't get it.

****.

STUDIO ATHENS  Great! I can lose all my electric gadgets, preamps etc etc and just plug my deck straight into my mac. I love the vinyl sound and this gives me the chance to play my records all day again while sitting at my machine supposedly working.

Value is good considering a decent preamp for vinyl is twice as much the asking price.

It is a little unstable on my Mac Pro 2.66 but I hope for this to be fix in the up/coming release.

Great sound Great product - thanks so far

DOM21  I'm confused. This will only work with dual CPU's? Regardless of the power of your single CPU?
