SHOCK J  Spark cannot do what Visor does. Visor is not an app launcher. Visor alters the presentation method of the Terminal.

VGZ  Needs to be updated for Leopard. It will attempt to load with the new version of SIMBL, showing up in the menubar, but Terminal will crash immediately afterwards.

MACUPDATE_ACCOUNT  As VGZ says, Leopard Terminal will crash immediately if SIMBL/Visor tries to load it. However, the Tiger Visor/VisorTerminal application will continue to work fine in Leopard, so I highly recommend you keep a copy of that around until Visor (hopefully) gets updated.

I'm really looking forward to a tabbed Visor Terminal.

MONDELE  This is a cool piece of software I find myself using a lot. So much, that I tracked down a hack to not have Terminal running in the background. http://log-everything.blogspot.com/2006/06/visor-dirrrrty-hack.html has step-by-step instructions for creating a hacked terminal that doesn't show in the dock.

In the features department, it would be nice to have Window Settings preferences available in Visor, rather than the kludge of doing it in Terminal, but in all, it works very well.

HENRIKTEKNIK  Kinf of nice, but you need to make it so that this app can open *without* having a normal Terminal window being opened at the same time, *and*, without needing to have the Terminal, in order to invoke the Visor thing.

Otherwise it's a nice idea. Good luck improving it further. Thanks.

CROP  Totally useless... I just don't understand the goal...

A "systemwide" way to send bash commands WITHOUT having Terminal.app running would be GREATLY appreciated. But since Terminal.app MUST be running for Visor to work, why shouldn't we just have to click on its dock icon?

Did I miss something?

DOMINIQUE PERETTI  The point you're missing is that nerds don't like to use the mouse.

CROP  Well, I like shortcuts too :P but :

1- I don't need a thousandth one;

2- I don't need two more processes running in the background.

3- I've been harsh because, at a first look, I really thought this app was... well, really "something"...

BTW, what does "systemwide" mean, after all?

Sometimes my phone rings and Ooops! I need my adress book Right Now! A cool shortcut and it's here...

Let's try to figure with Terminal:

The phone rings... Hey! It's Gran'Ma! Where's my terminal!!?

(just kiddin')

MACMINICOOPER  This is way to cool! Very fast access to a terminal window via a keyboard command. You do need to install SIMBL since this is a plug-in for it.
