DESCRIPTION
Play MiniTunes is a iTunes quick song player and controller.
It has two functions. One is the song "search-and-play" in which you type the song or artist name, hit the return key and presto your song starts playing! If more than one song matches the criteria, all matches are displayed and you make pick which one you want to play. If you do the artist search, all songs by that particular artist is brought up. The second half is a nice and easy controller where it displays the track info, plus fast forward/next track, play/pause, rewind/back track, mute on/off and volume control. There is a button that will show a panel with the current song's album artwork as well.
Also in the application menu you are able to open the iTunes prefs, and use shuffle, repeat, rank current song out of 5 stars, set genre and more.

ATTENTIONWANDERED this is an alright application, but the window is a little bulky. an ultra compact skin or something, and this would be my main itunes controller (Version 1.1.6)

HENDO could you give me a little more detail? Like is there something on the window that should be removed? or do you want the window to be spaced out more? I am not sure what you mean by an ultra compact skin...because the more compact it is the bulkier it will be so you are kind of arguing against yourself. (Version 1.1.6)

ATTENTIONWANDERED well if you could make it more space efficient somehow. perhaps like have an option in the preferences to get rid of some things(for instance i have no use for the volume meter), or just have the volume thing as a little button, and when you press that the actual slider comes up and stuff the two tabs at the top are gigantic. have miniscule buttons on the side (so they take away the pretty much unused space at the top) and instead of saying "music" and "search" just have like a musical note and a magnifying glass i think im gonna make a photoshop of my ideas and email it to you. it could be pretty hard to program i guess. (btw. children of bodom is a good band) (Version 1.2)

HENDO thanks for taking the time to to some photoshop graphics for me. They would be much appreciated. Yes, Children of Bodom is a fantastc band (my all time favs) Thanks for the suggestions! (Version 1.2)

8OO8 Can't download this. When I click on "download", I'm immediately returned to the MacUpdate page. And there's no contact info mentioned for the developer or his website. (Version 1.1.1)

8OO8 I tried downloading MiniTunes using all my browsers(Safari, Camino, Shiira, Firefox and Opera); the download problem persists regardless of which browser I use. I even tried downloading from your website. No go, there, too. I haven't a clue about what's wrong. No problem downloading other developers apps, though. Most puzzling! (Version 1.1.1)

HENDO that is weird because i am using safari and the download link works perfectly...if you really want the app i could email it to you, just post your email address with your email adress and i'll send it to you. (Version 1.1.1)

HENDO I don't know what is going on. Some people can download it and others can't. I can download it and I am using Mac OS X 10.4.4 and Safari 2.0.3. It also downloads fine on my brothers Powerbook with 10.4.6 using Firefox 1.5.0.3 Once again just email me at spikeit_13@hotmail.com if you want a copy. (Version 1.1.3)

8OO8 Like Dom21, above, I'm also using OS 10.3.9. I wonder if the download problem is particular to Panther, only, and not to Tiger OS 10.4+? (Version 1.1.3)

MACERICG I would love a little interface that would allow me to rank and label the genre of the current song without having to open iTunes. Would this be easy to add? (Version 1.0)

HENDO It's a good suggestion, I will try my best to add it in the next version (Version 1.0)
| Jul 28 2006 |
MACERICG That would be great. Thank you. (Version 1.1.3)
| Jul 29 2006 |
HENDO Well, I don't think it is neccesary to rank your genres. In this version you can rank the current song playing (under the Controls menu) (Version 1.1.3)
| Jul 29 2006 |
MACERICG I think that perhaps I was unclear. I didn't wish to be able to "rank genres," but rather assign a genre and also give a star rank to he current tune playing. In the small, unobtrusive interface of MiniTunes, it would be great to give my personal attributes (such as specific genre or rank) as I listen to my songs while working. That's all I meant. (Version 1.1.3)
| Jul 30 2006 |
HENDO Oh, ok, Well, you may have noticed in 1.1.3 you can give a star ranking to the current song (it's under the controls menu.) So I guess I will start working on the other feature that you want...shouldn't take too long...well actually there are quite a few genres...lol...it's gonna be alot of typing...oh well (Version 1.1.3)
