DESCRIPTION
Play MiTunes is an easy and fast way to play songs and control iTunes. With all the basic playback controls along with a "type-and-play" feature that allows you to type a part of a song name, hit enter and BAM, your song is played. You may also do the same with an artist and all songs by that artist will be brought up. Window can be switched between full mode and search mode and all controls can be activated using simple keyboard shortcuts. Please read the enclosed text file, as it is important to not have the keyboard shortcuts interfere with Spaces.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.1.2:
  • Minor bug fix with "type-and-play" in search mode.
  • Keyboard shortcuts*
*Leopard Users: Please read the text file titled "**SPACES USERS READ THIS**." It has important information on setting your Spaces preferences as to not conflict with Play MiTunes keyboard shortcuts.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later. (Might work in 10.4)

THE1ANDONLY  This is a really neat program. Although not as small as I would like, the GUI looks great and blends in really well with iTunes. All the buttons work properly, but the preferences window is a little lacking ;)

I love the type and play feature, it makes it so much easier to play songs that comes to my head. Thanks for this great iTunes controller :)  (Version 2.0.1)

CASSIOTONES  I thought it was something like a QuickSilver for music, like pressing a hot key, typing a few letters and getting the song. Well, maybe I got it wrong, but for what I can see it is not much different then opening iTunes and clicking the green button to get its mini version. Of course there is the search option in MiTunes, but I also preffer maximizing iTunes and using its search since I dont need to specify "artist" or "title" there, I just type what comes to mind first and get what I want.  (Version 2.0.1)

EL-CRAVITO  There's one thing that I prefer in Play MiniTunes (from the same developer): when iTunes is launched. it is immediately hidden. With Play MiTunes, you have to hide iTunes manualy.

And it would be good if you could activate Play MiTunes with a hotkey.

Otherwise, the new interface is nice and the application works well.  (Version 2.0)
