ATA I would also like to know if I can play my media over a network or from an external drive. I'm basically debating whether or not to purchase a Mac mini and use this software with it as a media center. From my research so far, it seems as though XHub is my best bet. Also, can you download info for movies and TV shows from say iMDB or TVShows.com? Any info is much appreciated since these are the features I would love to see in this app if they don't already exist ;-) (Version 2.1)

DOUG S. Note: You can accomplish this with a series of aliases, which are like shortcuts. it's a pain but you could do it. (Version 2.1.1)

ATA I have a question for the Dev. I have all my album cover art saved in the album folder as "folder.jpg" Will xHub pull this images and display them as album cover art? I do it this way since I don't like embedding the image into each song. Thanks. (Version 2.1)

COOLCAPER One of the...if not the best, media center out there for the mac. Have used it from the early versions and it has evolved quite a bit. The support is excellent and its great to have the author actually take into account suggestions and implementations. XHub integrates very well with Salling clicker and together they provide quite an experience in the Mac Home Media Center!! (Version 2.0.1)

DUROSITY Very nice program, still has a few teething issues (that the developer seems to be aware of, such as the aspect ratio of some video appears wrong). It seems pretty stable these days, although the browse network drive function randomly doesn't work and sometimes the tv modules picture won't show, but audio will! All in all a good media centre program, i'd have to say its the best media centre program available on the mac at the moment... and will be even better once the glitches are worked out! RICHY This app is the best media center that I have found so far for os x. The eyeTV integration works perfectly for me. The previous version did have a few stability issues, this version seems better but it does have a tendency to lock up occasionally, but it usually responds after a while or you can quit and restart it with the keyboard. Definitely worth 4 stars a bit more work on keeping it running smoothly and it'll be a 5 :) (Version 2.0)

ORGANIK Well, although this is the best looking media center app for the Mac, it's still completely useless. Froze during an attempt to view movie trailers, no way out except to HARD POWER DOWN! Bad...bad...bad....avoid until it's an actual app that can be force quit via command-opt-escape like everything else can. Still waiting for a decent media center app for mac.... (Version 2.0)

Sorry to hear about your crash. It sounds likely that it was caused by (the old) Clicker remote rather than by XHub itself. Perhaps you forgot to install the new remote for XHub 2.0? As I told you once before, here, and as is clearly stated in the documentation, you can force quit XHub at anytime with Command+Option+Q. If you prefer to be able to force quit it like visible applications, making a daemon process appear in the Dock is very simple. Just drop me a line and I will be happy to help you. PS. It is generally a better idea to file a bug report than posting a review at some third-party site. Chances are we may not see it. (Version 2.0)

JEFF H. Xhub has a lot of potential...so far, it's the only app that can launch EyeTV from within it using my device (Plextor ContvertX). But, everytime it's launched it crashes my finder/dock...VERY annoying! Have to relaunch all my widgets again after I'm done using Xhub. The control over EyeTV is also very limited...I have a widescreen display and have to change the screen aspect ratio to 14:9 in order to make everything right, and I can't do this from within Xhub. Lastly, I attempted to purchase this through Macupdate on 1/04 for the $9.99 sale price, which was supposed to go thru 1/04 and it was not honored, so I will not be purchasing Xhub, but it will be on my radar in the future. MAGNOT A nice start, but having problems when displayed on a TV since the graphics goes all the way out to the margins. This means the UI is cropped since the TV has overscan, seems to be made for a computer screen not a TV. There should be prefernces to set your overscan area. Without this it's not usable for me. But if the developer fixes this I might be tempted to pay and take it for a test drive... (Version 1.0)

EDN I'm very impressed. Looks fabulous, speed is amazing and functionality is great. Works great with the Apple Remote. Haven't tried it with Clicker but I suspect it would be even more enjoyable. Finally a clone that is actually better than the original! (Version 1.0)

ORGANIK Well, I think it's the best looking of the media center apps, but that's about it. Scans movie folder for compatible vid files, then displays those in a list - not good! I put my vids in a folder structure for a reason, give me my folder structure! Also, it needs to be an actual app, not a pref pane. Froze and I couldn't force quit it...had to hard power cycle. One more thing - iPhoto browsing is broken: selecting an album displays photos from the whole library. I think with some work this will be a great app, for now it's front row for me. SNARB Hello, and thanks for your feedback. Your folder request will be considered. Also, believe it or not, you can force quit XHub at any time with Cmd+Q. (Version 0.9.7b)
