ROSECAMPBELLCW  Wonderful app! I had some difficulty at first using it, but that's because I didn't read the "Read this before using part." :) The Help material is so clear, and the app works like a charm. Bravo Plyxim! Thanks for helping us use iWeb without MobileMe.

SPOONS14  I designed a website in iWeb and publish via a free web host. I use Easy iWeb Publisher to upload changes. It has worked fine for several months but now when I try and upload it says it can't find remote directory or fail to upload file: index.html at /Users/

It worked perfectly fine before and I haven't done anything different, what the heck is going on???

PERSONYM  DOWNLOADING EASY iWEB PUBLISHER

Hi MACUPDATE ADMIN

Thanks for your speedy reply to my problem suggesting "Try using another browser to download the file"

I did as you suggested :

I tried Camino and Firefox under Mac, and Internet Explorer running under PC emulation using VMware Fusion.

They each gave the same result: all I got was a .htm copy of the page that I was clicking the download linkage on.

What happens is this:

1. I bring up the www.plyxim.com/free page ... no problem

2. Then I click on Easy iWeb Publisher v5.0

3. Which takes me to: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21666

4. This takes me to a page telling all about Easy iWeb Publisher 5.0.1 which includes a "Download Now (561K)" linkage (which seems to point to the exact same page I'm already looking at)

5. I click on the "Download Now" link.

6. Which does a split second link to another Macupdate page that goes so fast I can't read the URL it's going to ... and then it returns me to exactly the same page I'm was on before (i.e. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21666)

7. In the Downloadfolder on my Mac there is certainly a 52K file called 21666.html ... but this is just an image of the http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21666 page and not a copy of the software to be downloaded.

I am very ready to think that I am doing something stupid but could it be possible that there is an error on page http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21666 in that it contains an incorrect linkage ... ????

Would it be possible for you to try the Download Now link for Easy iWeb Publisher on page

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21666 to see if it works for you and let me know what I am doing wrong.

Many thanks for your patience.

MISHA  Are you running any privacy blocking software? Surfing with cookies off? Etc.?

For downloads hosted by us (this one included) we require people click the Download Now link from this page for it to work ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21666 ).

Our server must see the click as originating from our site to start the download successfully. If you are using anything that covers your tracks online, it might be blocking this. If so, please disable and try again.

If not, please let me know your Mac OS and browser versions, as well as your location and ISP so we can investigate.

Thanks,

Misha w/ MacUpdate

PERSONYM  Hi MISHA

WONDERFUL !!!!

Your insight and suggestion solved my problem perfectly.

The security software package I use on my iMac does indeed have settings that hide various pieces of info relating to my computer and browser which were switched to "ON"

Temporarily switching them to "OFF" instantly enabled me to complete the download of Easy iWeb Publisher.

Many, many, many thanks.

MISHA  Happy to be of assistance :) If any other download from us doesn't work (short of it giving you a 404 or "regular" error), try that same tactic and you should be good.

Enjoy!

JACK_EDGAR  It was recommended to me that I download this application to publish my website. I am having trouble using it and I would really appreciate some help. When ever I try and check my configuration or try and publish the website, the application comes up with unexpected termination. What could be causing this. I checked with my hosting website and they said the configuration sounded correct. Thanks for the help!

DAVIDMCANNON  Only used it once thus far (with iWeb 08 generated files to a Zen hosted website) but absolutely perfect - downloaded the app, and uploaded my website in less than 5 mins.

Could not ask for more - great free app

JOANNEFYIN  I used cyberduck to publish my iweb created site. It went ok, but then I saw a MacWorld Video about Easy iWeb Publisher (by plyxim). It looked better. When I went to download it, it says requirements are at least OS X 10.4.2.

My question to you--Can I still use it if I have OS X 10.4.11?

Thanks,

Jo

I await your reply
