Sniper (was Mugshot) is an iPhoto-like desktop application for managing your Flickr photos. Looking for a replacement for Flickr’s web interface? Want to drag, drop, and copy instead of clicking on links? Want to see thousands of photos in a single, scrolllable view? Download Mugshot!
Version 0.57 is a very minor update that only fixes the hang-on-launch that people were seeing in the previous version. Sniper was hanging because it was finding a tag in the contacts list which it didn’t expect. That should be fixed now - so if Sniper wouldn’t launch for you, try this latest build.
I can’t personally reproduce this error, so this build has very limited testing - give it a try, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll spin another build.
This problem highlights a weakness in the Flickr backend that Sniper uses - and is one of the reasons that Sniper can be difficult to update for new features. I’ve brainstormed some ideas for a better “FlickrKit” - the next Sniper update probably won’t happen until I get that kit built.
GLOBETROTTERDK Sniper is a very usefull Flickr app. Unfortunately, it is rather buggy, both with it's interaction with Safari and Flickr. Sniper could easily be a five star app if the kinks get ironed out by the developer. (Version 0.57)
LOGICALNOT It works ! And it's smooth and easy. Great design —but the color harmony is quite strong for me.
Just one suggestion : please add the posibility of downloading all the original image of a set from someone else. Some sets are CC but because there is too many pictures, it's a pain in the *ss to download them.
JEDIK This version does not work for me, even after deleting all the related files in my ~/Library folder. Going back to the previous version. =\ (Version 0.55)
