ELEVEN  Finally the dashboard and exposŽ keys work as they should my the Aluminum keyboard and my MacPro. I called Apple after I got the keyboard and they wanted me to send it in - seeing as the keys worked (just not they way they should) I was pretty sure it was a software issue.

IGAUCHO  Thanks Apple! The update fixed the issues I had with the Exposé and Dashboard keys. Before I was having to hold FN to use them. Now they work as they should.

SIGNORE ROSSI  This also works with my Cherry keyboard. All media keys are working now!

MRHOOKS  Curious why so many MBP owners installed this, when it isn't for the MBP. AFAIK, it's only for the new standalone aluminum keyboard Apple introduced this week.

MACUPDATE ADMIN  Take a look at the version number those people were reviewing (version 1.0), it was for other models.

NOOKSTER  Installed, works, no explosions etc.

People, if your MPBs are causing you problems, then you should hand it back to Apple, and look for a fix rather than avoiding updates and putting up with (in my opinion) unreasonable workarounds.

Failing that, get your money back.

    FYI: same noise, as usual.

TDOMINEY  This fixed the trackpad issues I was experiencing on my MacBook. Sometimes the mouse would stutter or stick. Feels good now.

HUBERTCHANDDS  It looks like the Mirror widget trick to eliminate the whine is broken after installing this update. Can anyone else confirm this?

MACBULLET  If that is true, I probably won't apply the update because the mirror widget is essential for me to get rid of my cpu whine

PATMOSPHERE  Try opening, then closing Comic Life (should have came with the MBP).

Thats what I do to get rid of the CPU whine

YADDAYADDA  I can confirm that the whine fixes I know of STOP WORKING after installing the update. Neither the mirror widget nor photo booth (clicking on an image and closing) nor comic life help.

If you have sensitive ears, wait before installing this.

C3ZV3  Also confirmed. After installing this update, force-quitting PhotoBooth does /not/ stop the whine on a MacBook Pro with serial #W8612*.

Apparently no uninstall option. At least reinstalling OSX is a lot faster than reinstalling XP.

SOREN0  If you have problems with your MacBook Pro, Call Apple about this so they will be able to look into the issue.

    Thanks.

If you post it here, Apple wont read it.

DYINOSARS  It does seem that the mirror widget trick doesn't work anymore...as well as magicnoisekiller. I have been using QuietMPB, but I don't like the fact that it uses battery. Does anyone know if there is a way to uninstall this update?
