Don't you ask yourself from time to time where the multiple gigabytes of hard disk space continuously vanish to? Uninstall, archive, backup and analysis CleanApp analyzes, archives and removes applications and on your Mac, complete with all relevant files.

Efficient.

Our brand-new version 3 of CleanApp now gained in power and efficiency: requiring less memory and CPU than the predecessor, CleanApp 3 reliably tracks the most complex installations and quickly presents the user with a comprehensive listing of all information gathered so far.

KILLER KLOWN KAR  Can't recommend high enough. Very good app, lets you try out different things without worry about what is being installed and delete. Which sometimes is quite amazing. This along with Little Snitch are must haves!

VERT  I've tried AppZapper and AppCleaner, they are booth nice, but noone find really all the files like CleanApp does... For a example the folders in Application Support are often missed by AppZapper or AppCleaner. Currently using the demo, but its really amazing how this background logging process works, hardly uses any ressources. I'll write a review in a few days with more testing but so far its the best deinstaller i found.

GBBOB  This is a great app but, it needs one thing when you initially trash an application. It should present a dialog box asking if you are trashing just the app or the entire pkg. Sometimes when I download a new version of an application, it may be corrupted bad or I just do not like the update and decide to stick with the last version. As soon as you trash the app, CA kicks in and begins to scan for the tie-in files. Again, that is great if you are deleting the whole pkg and not just the app. That is where a simple dialog box could come up first asking your intentions whether you are deleting the app or everything. This way if it is just the app. trashed CA does not have to load and you do not have to wait to tell it to quit. This then saves us time and makes CA more proficient. End of Line...

SYNIUM SOFTWARE GMBH  This can be configured in CleanApp's Preferences --> Logging --> If Logging detects a trashed application... "ask me what to do." instead of "open CleanApp and start searching."

STEVEN GOODHEART  I've tried just about every de-install app, and this is hands down the best I've ever used. It finds and removes obscure files and caches and the like that you'd never think of looking for or even know about. One of my best 2009 purchases, and it keeps getting smarter and better. Highly recommended.

L-I-N-K  Any other uninstaller app without the logging deamon does a pretty basic job. Usually many files will stay on your disc.

CleanApp does a real complete job - you can even see which general files (e.g. apple plist file) have been modified by your app.

I really agreee to the others: since the last updates all major bugs or feature requests have been corrected.

BRUSETH  Any problems I’ve had with CleanApp in the past (such as with the CleanApp daemon) have been completely fixed. I’m happy that the developer has fixed everything, and I appreciate all the hard work he/she puts into this app. Thanks for the so-very-useful program. Keep up the great work!

ORYTEK  Agreed. For awhile I was doubting the cpu hungry daemon would be fixed but everything is good now.
