Macintosh Software Search: New column sorting and sidebar filtering!

DESCRIPTION
MailFollowup Mail Plugin adds a "Follow Up" item to the Message and contextual menus (and optional toolbar item) of Apple's Mail application that allows you to compose (and then send) a quoted version of the original message to all of the original recipients, keeping the To, Cc and Bcc addresses exactly as they appeared in the original message. Hawk Wings has a nice description of MailFollowup.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.2.1:
  • FIXED: Eliminated a bug that could cause strange behavior, and potentially a Mail crash, if a user manually moved recipients around in a followup message.
  • CHANGED: Changed some rules for when recipients were added to the To or Cc fields.
See the revision history for more information.
REQUIREMENTS
Apple Mail 3.0 or later, Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

    LPOD  a couple pointers:

make sure to include a "cancel" option for your installer.

I kinda like "follow-up" or "follow up" as opposed to "followup", but seeing how there isn't much room for the extra character, it's only minor.

nice idea, I like the new toolbar feature, nice icon. Overall it's pretty refined.

    good job,

    KRIS  MY RETRACTION:

To any further readers about this program:

I have discovered that Dr. Welch's program was NOT the offending program causing my MAIL program to crash. He and I have been in contact trying to get his program to run on my machine. It is a work in progress. I feel that an apology from me is in order. If I knew how to retract my comments (and my negative ratings), I surely would.

At this time, I am trying to figure out which other add-on is causing the problem, but I am positive it's not MailFollowup. Until then, I must re-rate his program to reflect a much more fairer evaluation.

    My apologies.

    **...

KRIS  My Mail application was crashing on and off this week. I couldn't figure out why. Then I installed this version, and it crashed like crazy. I then deleted this whole plugin, and Mail stabilized.

    What gives?

I won't install this again: I lost all my inbox messages (or so I thought) until I snooped around, and found most of them.

GREGWELCH  My apologies. Version 1.0.1 (just released) should fix the problem.

What happened? The plugin was erroneously relying on something in the Mail Act-On plugin, so anyone who did not have that installed, experienced a crash. I actually did have several people help me test the plugin before I released it, but unfortunately all those people had the Mail Act-On plugin installed, and so none experienced the crash. 1.0.1 was also compiled as a universal binary, but not tested on an Intel machine (I don't have one).
