DESCRIPTION
About this update

This update is for MacBook Pro computers with Intel processors only.
It now runs on localized systems that use languages that read right to left.

Note: Print or write down these instructions before you begin the update.

To update the firmware on your Intel-based MacBook Pro:

1. Quit all other open applications.

2. Click Shut Down in the MacBook Pro Firmware Updater window and wait for your computer to shut down.

3. Press and hold the power button on your MacBook Pro until the power indicator light flashes repeatedly to begin the update.

A status bar indicates the progress of the update.

Important: Do not interrupt the update.

Your computer restarts automatically when the update is completed and opens the MacBook Pro Firmware Updater.

4. Click OK, if the firmware is now up-to-date.

If these instructions appear on your screen again, the firmware update was not successful. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4.

JROSSOL  @(*#$@**( , I am really upset. I NEVER heard my processor whine until I installed this update. Now I hear it anytime I do something as little as move my mouse. Any ideas how I could revert to 1.0?

DOMBI  I tried to update my MacBook Pro's firmware, but it would not do it. I applied the previous firmware update though, so maybe I am alright for now. I am not going to force it, since everything works as it should.

This might be some firmware update fix for those special cases that might have had problems with the revious one... not really sure though.

JLENNON314  What's this one do? The last one made my computer run much faster. Plus, I can run Windows now :-P.

MKAISERMAN  Installed without issue. I wasn't having problems before so I am not sure what this did, but happy to avoid problems in the future.

MARK.ANDERSON  Crapsticks, I spoke too soon. I still have the "processor whine", just a bit more intermittently.

SJJ_PUBLIC  Contact Apple. I've read they are fixing this problem if you contact them about it. You have to send your MBP in to them, though.

MARK.ANDERSON  Awesome. Fixed my MacBook Pro "processor whine", the only issue I was having.

    Thanks Apple!
