DESCRIPTION

MailWidget announces the arrival of new mail. It is a direct extension to Apple Mail. But Apple Mail does not have to run all the time in background. The usage is very simple and intuitive. Download it and try it yourself.

Version 3.08:

Users of version 3.05 who have setup custom audio-feedback, need to perform this update manually.
This is the last update supporting Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger!
Changed behaviour so MailWidget does no longer check for mails after waking up when it was set to check only when Dashboard is being activated
Fixed problem with playback of the default announcement sounds in Snow Leopard
Fixed displaying problem where account names contained Unicode characters in the account list
Improved reliability with IMAP servers
Fixed compatibility to IMAP servers that do not stick tight to the IMAP protocol
Improved reliability on fetching header information (sender and subject)

	Mar 23 2009	PABLITO I like so much this widget. I had an issue with 3.0, and the developer was kindle, gentle in the emails helping me; and promptly did an improvement and updated the software. It was really good to interact with him, I felt participating part of it. I truly recommend to use it, because you can check all emails account you have, instead of only Gmail, as you can do in the commons notifies; or leaving the Mail open. In addiction, the Leopard Mail icon is neat on dashboard ;) (Version 3.01)		0

PENGMAN I'm running Firefox 3.0.7 (widget was d/l with Speed Download) I tried the latest Safari beta and it wiped out my read/write privileges on my iMac so it's been erased.

	Mar 22 2009	SBCHAVEL Looks nice, takes up little space, works well, good customization. But tracks the IN box, not all unread emails, so if you have rules set up to sort new mail, the widget will miss them. Suggestion: clicking on widget checks for new mail immediately. (Version 3.0)		0

MICHAEL KWASNICKI Since Apple does not seem to do anything against the memory consumption I think it is up to us developer to provide ways out of that.

I can't promise to provide a solution for that very soon.

	Apr 2 2007	HENRIKTEKNIK Major advantage: Mail.app doesn't need to be open in order to check unread mail. Major disadvantage: You can't check more than one email account in the same instance of the widget. You have to use multiple instances, for checking more than one email. (Version 2.0.4)		0

	Mar 31 2007	JAB47 I tried 2.0 and it worked like a charm. This morning I upgraded to 2.0.3 and I can't get past the password page for my account. I press verify and nothing seems to happen. Can I get 2.0 back until this is fixed? (Version 2.0.3)		0
