WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.5:

  • Added support for the Fujitsu S300M (Mobile Mac ScanSnap).

  • Added support for the Fujitsu fi-6130 and fi-6230 scanners.

  • Added support for 'Expert Settings' in the scanner setup dialog. If your scanner does not support any expert settings, this option will not appear. Currently, only the Fujitsu fi-6130 and fi-6230 scanners have expert settings.

  • Added setup tips for selected scanners (currently only the Fujitsu fi-6130 and fi-6230). Scanners that have setup tips available will see a 'Show Setup Tips' button in the scanner setup dialog.

  • We changed the way we handle registrations and demos. Formerly, unregistered copies of ScanTango would not attempt to use a supported scanner until the software was registered. Until then, only the emulated Demo Scanner was available. With 2.5, we will now detect and operate with any supported scanner. However, if you have not yet registered ScanTango or if your registration is for a lower tier of scanners, all images scanned will show a gentle 'Please Register Scantango!' message. The message is removed instantly upon registration for the needed scanner tier. We believe this offers the best of both worlds - users get to genuinely test the software with their actual hardware to see if it works before spending real money, and we retain a bit of leverage to help us obtain the revenue to fund future development.

    ZXPT  We use the Tier 0 version of ScanTango for our Strobe XP100 scanners. ( I also have VueScan and a flatbed but use it just for thick material like books, otherwise why bother...) Even with this cheep second hand manual feed scanner ScanTango simply rocks! It's easy to set resolution presets, scan, rearrange the order, erase, crop and redact pages. The app is also a great tool for editing existing PDF docs using the same built-in features. My wife doesn't like cumbersome scanning apps but loves this one because it's a very uncomplicated and gets the job done fast without frustration.  (Version 2.5)

    M-RICK  What makes it better than VueScan which as OCR and support a lot of settings for less expensive with the pro version ?  (Version 2.4.5)

    MACNERD1984  No OCR - For $99 I'd expect a lot more than this. Forget it.  (Version 2.4.5)

    UMIJIN  I can't quite see what this program brings that isn't already there in the software bundled with Fujitsu's Mac versions of the Scansnap.

    Plus, it doesn't even do OCR.  (Version 2.4.4)
