Bye Bye Dashboard allows you to remove the Dashboard. Tests show that the Dashboard uses a siginificant amount of CPU power even when not in use. It has also shown to use a large amount of internet bandwith. Also in a corporate environment the Dashboard could be come a distraction to employees. Thus Bye Bye Dashboard was made.
The Dashboard is in no way an essential part of OS X, it is simply another application built into OS X. Disabling the Dashboard is in no way a permanent operation. Bye Bye Dashboard also works the other way. It can easily enable the Dashboard in seconds. This is rather useful if you want to have the Dashboard disabled but still have the ability to use it when you desire it.
I hope you like Bye Bye Dashboard, and if you have any comments or feedback please email me
MACNERD1984 Congratulations on that one, Einstein. If at some point in the future you might decide it's useful then have fun re-installing. (Version 2.0)
MICHAEL WILLIAMS If you would like I can make a version that when opened it will disable the dashbaord and then exit. That way you can then just chuck in in StartUp item's folder. If you want get really technical then you can use a program (I can't remember what's it's called) that will hide the application icon from the dock so no one notices. (Version 2.0)

REVELATION22.12 Downloaded it. Ran it. Eliminated it (Dashboard, that is).
Works like it was described. Running it reset the dock, then prevented Dashboard from activating.
Running B/W G3 (upgraded to G4) with 10.4.4. (Version 1.0)
I have noticed that sometimes the program doesn't work first time. Try restarting your computer and then running it. Just keep running it till the dashboard goes away. It will work after awhile.
I'm not sure what causes this but I think it's something to do with the apple side of things. (Version 1.0)
