DESCRIPTION
Postino is an RSS reader with audio and video podcast support.
Postino is software that makes it easy to read and organize articles, audio and video programs and podcasts. You don't need anymore to visit your favorites sites hundreds of times a day, Postino will get you the new articles automatically.
Podcasts are radio- and TV-style shows you can download from the Internet. You just need to subscribe to podcasts, for free, and new episodes are automatically downloaded on your computer as they become available so that you can play them when you're not connected to the Internet.

DR.P  Does this version export OPML? *

Old version did not and the developer was silent in response to queries.

*No!

It would be a killer reader, but it's a yugo. A yugo with non-existant support and no developer responsiveness at all.

PETERPOD  Version 1.5 looks pretty nice... The podcast video player is the best I've seen so far.

AMNESIC  Sorry, but I didn't see any interest on this RSS reader compare to the quality of Vienna how is free and Open Source.

LUHMANN  "Postino will change the way people experience RSS."

How? Can you give me one good reason to download this software if I already have NNW or Endo or something similar?

GTIE09  the developer sold the rights. I believe he's still going to be developing -- but it's often not the same when you move to a commercial product that was once developed with the passion of a committed shareware developer.

HERVĂ© 5  to be even more blunt: NNW for months has been *50* times slower than the (free) Vienna. I heard that its last release was now faster (easy!) at the price of dropping Spotlight compatibility.

I can say, having *bought* NNW pro, I now have dropped it definitively. NNW was the best, but long ago.

Now, I don't know about Postino speed :-)

BLLOYD  The more the merrier, I guess. I just can't help but wonder how this application could possibly sell well in light of:

NetNewsWire Lite which is free, and looks to have similar/superior functionality, tested over 4 years of use.

NetNewsWire which has been the class leader for 3-ish years, and has definitely superior functionality, by far.

Shrook.

NewsFire.

Safari having RSS support built in.

A host of other solutions. Talk about "me too."

I don't mean to discourage application development, but following along, 4 years behind the competition, with nothing compelling and new to offer... not the best business model I've heard of.
