JMEDDY  Works great, but I do have one small feature request: support for password-protected RARs. That would make the app perfect.

SAMUS  Oh! Also, I have another idea about what your trouble might be. When you're downloading a video, the files usually download in alphabetical order. So, it'll download in this order:

filename.r00

filename.r01

filename.r02

.

.

.

filename.rar

Problem is, the .rar is actually the first part of the archive. You just need to move the .rar file up to the first spot in the queue, and then once that first piece is finished downloading you should be good.

Cheers,

Samus

JJABBA  That is already handled by the application, you drop whatever part of the rar archives and it will find the first by itself, it will show the filename of the one yuo dropped, but it will actually start using the .rar or whatever the first part is named.

I'll investigate the problems reported with 1.3 on an intel mac as soon as I get a chance, I don't own one of my own yet.

SAMUS  Yes, VLC Rar-Loader will start playing the files in the correct order regardless of which piece you drag in. However, you do need to have the first piece completely downloaded. What I meant by my above comment was that the first piece usually comes *last* alphabetically (.r01, .r02 etc... and finally .rar)

So, if the download order isn't correct (in Unison, NZB Drop, or whatever app you're downloading the rars with) this app will be useless. Usually I have to pull the .rar up to the top of the download queue.

SAMUS  Actually it works great, but not the latest version. Try downloading 1.2 at this link:

SAMUS  VLC 0.8.6f responds with 'main: cannot pre fill buffer'. RAR-Loader 1.2 worked fine for me.

DOM21  No "Play" button appears either before or after dropping file in. Unusable here but I won't neg rate it in case I am doing something wrong - though I don't know what, I read the entire PDF.

JJABBA  Your "play" button doesn't show if you have selected "play instatly on drop" in the preference drawer.

If you see the playbutton but it itn't clickable it's most likely because VLC-rar Loader was unable to find Video Lan Client on your hard drive. Please make sure you have the latest version of Video Lan Client installed.

SMACTRON  Thanks! This plays an XviD that VLC (standalone) and everything else wouldn't. This compact application is just what I'd been looking for for about a month.
