DESCRIPTION
Pukka is a richly-featured client for Delicious, Ma.gnolia, and compatible social bookmarking services with integrated fast search. Fire it up and within seconds you can easily post to one or more accounts. Pukka comes with its own bookmarklet for super fast posting, or you can drag a URL from any browser, open a URL shortcut file on the desktop, or drag a URL right onto the dock icon. You can even set Pukka as your external weblog client in NetNewsWire, NewsFire, and Vienna.

No more waiting for the posting page to load, no more bulky bookmark organizers when all you want to do right now is post a link. Pukka moves in fast and then gets out of the way so that you can keep browsing.

Features:

  • Speed: Fast, light, and always ready.
  • Bookmark Search: Fast and keyboard navigable.
  • Tag Menus: Fast access to your bookmarks by tag in the dock and/or menu bar.
  • Security: Uses SSL and the Mac keychain and allows private posting.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts: Keep your eyes on the screen and your hands on the keyboard.
  • Growl: Keep distractions to a minimum but stay notified with Growl.
  • RSS Integration: Integrates with popular readers like NetNewsWire, NewsFire, and Vienna.

RBUGAJEWSKI  Pukka is the best Delicious client for Mac OS X.

For me as a heavy internet user I need a place where I can save a lot of web sites I stumble upon – Delicious is the perfect place to have this information easily available everywhere where you have an internet connection. The only problem is the clunky way of adding new bookmarks.

Thanks to Pukka you don’t have to worry anymore about entering your data. With the help of a simple bookmarklet the “I don’t want to get in your way” UI pops up, lets you enter everything you need, and then seemlessly fades away into the background.

Since the last major update there is also a very nice and polished Spotlight-like search for your bookmarks and I also love the AppleScript integration, because I backup a copy of my bookmarks locally.

MYKL.BIZ  An essential, time saving tool for anyone with multiple Delicious accounts. Useful for everyone else. You can bookmark without being in a web browser. And the new bookmark searching even lets you see your Delicious bookmarks while offline. I use it every day.

ALEXIUSCA  Pukka is a consummate Mac app. I'm a huge del.icio.us fan but never found i was able to use it regularly until I found pukka.

Slick interface, pleasure to use, a great developer, and an inexpensive product.

Highly recommended!

JOI  Delibar does pretty much the same and it is free. Also has a version for windows.

http://www.shinyfrog.net/en/software/delibar/

Delibar is a simple del.icio.us desktop client for macosx.

Delibar collects all your bookmarks in the system bar, so you can access them comfortably.

Delibar offers you many of the del.icio.us features and a lot more, like:

Tag and bundle catalogation

Sorting entries by alpha or frequency

Recent bookmarks

Exporting in a html page

Bookmarks autoreload

Proxy support and auto detection

MORFUS  You can't save links with Delibar so it's not nearly as useful as Pukka.

ESUBS  In the Age of Bloatware, Pukka is a real pleasure to use. It does what it says in a simple, elegant fashion. Stable as a rock, it makes posting to del.icio.us feel like it was part of the OS. Add that to a small memory footprint and Pukka's a bit of a must-have. All that's missing is the Joyent integration everyone is begging for, but I still can't take off a point for its absence. Top stuff.

CHRIS WALKEN  My preferred way to post links to del.icio.us. Better than using the del.icio.us bookmarklet that sends you to their web site. I'm sure there's a way to hack this, but it would be cool if it would let you hide the dock icon, since you probably never need it.

ECHIDNAE  This is nice, but one thing I think is missing and should be included is that when you drag a url from an open browser window to Pukka in the dock, it should grab the name of the page from the browser and use it as the title. Apps like URLwell are able to do this, and I don't see Pukka should be missing out on that.

Overall, very nice app though.

COCOAJUNKIE  Great little app!

Integrates well with the web browser (I use Camino) using either the bookmarklet or a keyboard shortcut.

I love how it auto-completes tags and displays a Growl alert when items are posted.

MAIQUE  it works, it's free and, as someone said, the developer listens to the users.

while flock doesn't get to a point where i can use it without fear of losing something important or just taking a lot of time with every new tab, pukka is working on all of the other browsers and i add more links to my del.icio.us account than ever before.

it's as easy as could be and works flawlessly.

thanks.
