    ***..

MR AMNESIA  I have used Collection or Media as it has become since version 1. It was slow. It is a lot faster now. There was a serious problem when Apple did a Quicktime upgrade, which totally screwed up the ability to check your collection with a scanner. It was out of action for months. That has been fixed and works well.I have not had any problems for more than a couple of years. This latest version works fine I can use the scanner to check the entries.

As to the costs for the software add-on like comic, these are a bit pricey, at $39 each but if you already have the kit it is worth it. I already have the Media, Home Assets and will be considering Kitchen next.

There are a few issues like you cannot alter the view. It sorts the CD's by the album name where as I have mine sorted by artist, so it is not easy to check against the print outs. I would have given it a higher rating if the print outs were better.

JONSTUCK  I bought the hardware/software bundle when it was just the media catalog version. They then added the other applications to the bundle. I inquired about the additional software and they wanted to charge me to buy the software.

I find that unacceptable that BECAUSE I bought this as an early adopter I would be forced to pay for things that are now part of the bundle.

HMURCHISON  I use Delicious Library and thus I'm not interesed in Intelliscaner's software. I've heard they aren't too jazzed

about supporting other software library. Seeing as how their

scanner hardware is OEM from other vendors and these vendors sell

cheaper I'm likely to avoid Intelliscanner altogether. The Microvision scanner looks good. I'll probably go with that.

NSIDNEY  This is by far the worst Mac company I have ever dealt with! I spent over $1000 on an inflated hardware and software bundle for my school and nearly all the software is defective. First of all, the applications are written in REALBasic, so be prepared for a slow experience. Second, IntelliScanner simply fails to respond to bugs. In Collection, the main scroll bar DOES NOT WORK! When I emailed them over a year ago about it, they said to use a mouse with a scroll wheel! Finally their prices are appalling. I did some research on and found that the exact same product can be had for significantly less:

    IntelliScanner: Kanecal.com $79 (Compare to $200)

    Flic Scanner: Flicscanner.com $129-249 (Compare to $179)

    IntelliScannerPro: Kanecal.com $79 (Compare to $400)

Scanabout: Direct from Manufacturer for $500 (Compare to $900)

They are just out there to take your money and give you rotten software. Our school was duped into believing that they "stand behind their products". STAY AWAY!
