DESCRIPTION
Time Tracker... Track the time you spent on projects with this simple and easy-to-use application.

Divide your work into projects, and split each into individual tasks. Stay honest, and not count those coffee breaks with the built-in idle time alerts. A menu bar icon reminds you at a glance whether the timer is running and allows you to easily stop and start the timer.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.2.6:
  • Edit work period and Delete work period now work properly when a date range filter is active.
  • New "week before last" filter.
  • The start button will create a new project/task if none is selected (or if there are no projects or tasks).
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

HEIKKIPEKKA  Great little app to track time spent. Would be five stars if could move projects and tasks around. Now I didn't start organizing well so now it's kind confusing to read my marks. Would help to drag n drop and rename some but it's not possible.

THEONETRUEROBB  Very nice app. However, it puts up a dialog asking me if I stilll want to count the elapsed time after I've been idle and YOU CAN'T TURN THIS OFF. When it happens, it throws my Audio software out of record mode in the middle of recording. This is, as you might imagine, a deal-breaker for me.

Nice job, programmers. Make the idle time message an option, and I's probably use this...

STERESI  Excellent well-rounded program if you simply want to record the time you spend working. I don't need fancy reporting functionality. It's open source and has a good developer site.

CHAOTICPIXEL  So far, I really like Time Tracker. But, I have to agree with the other commenter, this app does need the ability to write comments. Unfortunately, I can't switch over to it until it does. Please, keep up the good work.

SIMO2409  I tryed many apps like this but I always found too many things unuseful.

Time Tracker has everything you need (idle interceptor, project management, icon in the menu bar, etc) and just that.

I use it regularly and I'm really hapy with it! I'll never change!

It never crashed (and I track many hours).

By now I can't say anything negative about Time tracker.

RYBU03051  I didn't seem to have the option to give stars but it would have been 3 STARS. This app is very useful and easy to use but Printing needs to be significantly enhanced. I should be able to select a project and print all tasks associated with it with a break down of the times. I would expect something like an outline view.

Project with a Task below, then times worked on that Task. Another Task with times worked on that task, etc.

Thanks,

Ryan

OZZPOT  I find this app very useful. It has a very simple but versatile project management facility, and the menubar stop/start is very useful. The automatic idle time feature is also very good. But one thing drives me insane - when the window is closed, the entire app shuts down. I have lost count of the number of times I've done this, and had to estimate how long I've been working without it running, and adjust manually - it's very frustrating. Most apps (just look at Safari, Mail, Finder, or just about anything else) do not quit when the window is closed - it just means the window is out of the way. With this, you have to minimize it to the dock to keep it out of the way.

That's the only flaw with this app, and I'm sure it's easily fixed.

All in all it's a very nice, very useful little app, and it's free!

MITRA  I was really enjoying this app - until ... my mac crashed, (probably through no fault of Time Tracker). Everything else came back just fine after a reboot, but Time Tracker lost a day's worth of logs. I think it lost everything back to the time I started the Time Tracker application.

So beware if you use it, you might want to quit and restart it frequently.

The other big issue is that there is no way to export data, so there is a reasonable risk of losing everything.
