LUZCOOL  I am using Lostify 0.7 I know take a lot of time to rewrite the file but if you ever move your ITUNES library your tv shows and movies will be tagged already so no need for re tag takes time but is worth it

another tip for people don't know, check options you have different ways to buck up the video file even add it to itunes with one click, one thing i wish Lostify developer will add an opton for artwork.

DAVID THOMAS  While I would love to see the batch processing feature, I am simply appalled at the people who are berating this program and it creator - it's a marvel as far as I am concerned and I will be gladly donating to this fellow as soon as I can - gads, I would kiss his foot if I knew where to find him.

I have been using Doug's Applescript (Set Video Kind) and would probably kiss his foot too, but this only modifies the iTunes directory, it does not permanently tag the files as Tv Shows or Movies. If you remove the file and add it back to the iTunes library, the file will revert to its original "Movie" status and you have to run the script again - which you can do in a thrice since the program is all about batch jobs, but it is nice to have Lostify not only do this permanently, but also allow for adding descriptions to your shows. I have been using an Apple Widget called Descriptor to automatically retrieve show descriptions, but to my horror, discovered that the descriptions vanished if the iTunes directory changed or the file was removed and added back to the library. Once Descriptor retrieves the show description, you can then use Lowell Stewart's Lostify to rewrite the tag permanently - bless'em

FREEBSD  Works as advertised, quite well. A bit rough around the edges, and shaky/non-intuitive multi-file support and status monitoring.

But if you're trying to get your TV shows/music videos from your DVD to your iPod, this is the magic link that makes the transition possible.

CLARUS  First of all, thank God for Lostify! It's the only way I've found to tag TV Shows as TV Shows so that FrontRow recognizes them as such. (Tagging them as TV Show in iTunes simply doesn't work.)

Second, if you are tagging a large number of files Lostify requires constant user intervention and takes a *very* long time to rewrite each file to disk.

A great option for a future release would be a batch processing option. For instance, "tag everything in this folder as TV Show" and forget about all the other tags.

I'm greatful that Lostify exists at all . . . and it could be even more useful with some added functionality.

HONE MELGREN  Nice free application but it doesn't do batch processing well enough or fast enough for me. I would like a mode where I can point to a folder , it asks me what the tags I want are then it goes ahead and does this .

A progress bar would be wonderfull as well and instead of rewritting the file can't you just change the tags ?

It's faster as it only changes the tags , not rewritting them. Took me about 2 mins to change 72 videos to "TV show" video kind.

This is not slamming your app in anyway only it is constructive critism. The UI of your app is not bad actually as I've seen eye bleeding bad apps. I like how it is three steps - give it something , it asks what tags , then does it - very nice.

You REALLY need to lighten up. Only an ungrateful JERK complains about something he's getting for FREE.

SIMX  Ugh. Lostify is nice in that it lets you set video tags, but it's interface is utterly horrid. It only shows you the info for one video at a time, so if you want to batch modify certain info, you have to use the kludgy "locking" mechanism -- you lock certain fields, and the locked values will be retained when you open the info window for the next video. Furthermore, once Lostify finishes processing all files in a batch (which you have to drag to the Lostify icon in the Dock), the app quits! That's really annoying!

The creator of this app seriously needs to take a class in interface design. It's annoying, and it really makes me not want to use this app. I'll come back once Lostify starts using a list, can do batch processing without a kludgy interface, and doesn't automatically quit after processing.

VGZ  Great program, but there is a small bug in the interface. The production number and episode number fields are reversed. This can be worked around by entering the production number in the ep # field and vise versa.
