Fixed Da[y]light Saving Time display problems. Some of us have been complaining directly to the project author(s) about this problem for *years* !!!! Lets hope it is _really_ fixed, soon enough for the fall back coming this weekend. ;) (Version 0.72)

CHRISCHRAM I have used MacProgramGuide since the start, and I find it to be infinitely more useful than the online sites. That said, nobody likes to pay for something that was previously free. I signed up for the first quarter of service from schedulesdirect with the hope that the price would drop if they got enough subscriptions. (I believe schedulesdirect is shooting for a price of $20/year if this thing catches on. That's not too bad.) If the second quarter price remains at $15, I'm afraid I'll have to look elsewhere for my TV listings. Right now I find both Zap2it and TitanTV to be useless. (Version 0.56)

JIM_T_3 Props to this guy. I've been using this program for months. I can't stand going to the online TV listing sites since most of them are overly fancy by this point. Back when it was just HTML it was okay. Now? They suck. Plus I frequently need to reset my location since that gets trashed for some reason. I also don't use Dashboard and never found a good widget anyway. yes, yes, there are widgets. None I liked. This program I like. It launches fast, it displays what I want to see, it's stable, and it works well. It's no frills, but it's TV listings. I want no frills. And the fact that he stepped up and rewrote the thing to use a different service after zap2it discontinued their free service was top notch. I'm sure many other people would've just killed the app in some sort of silly protest about information being free. But this is the real world, and I still need my TV. $15 every three months ain't great (but, again it's paying to the service, not the programmer), but it also isn't the end of the world. I'm sure if a viable free service shows up again that he'd consider rewriting to support that one instead. This guy deserves support for keeping things going after zap2it split. It's a good app, to boot. (Version 0.55)

KG5NA Find a free update source. $15/3months ($60/year) is a sick joke. Zap2it and TitanTV are both still free. The link to Zap2It charging in September is bad. Are you sure you couldn't use a free service instead of one that cost almost as much as .MAC service? What good is a free program if the service is so expensive? What good is a program if a simple stored url gets the same information with Safari? I just don't get it. (Version 0.55)

RONIN_1 TVGuide.com is also free. I have used TitanTV, Zap2it and TVGuide and do not see the need for this paid service. (Version 0.57)

JIMW What is not clear in the MU description is that the use of this product, according to the program itself, is no longer free. While the program is still free, you have to have a paid subscription to the download service to use it. I have no idea what the fee is as after reading it , I quit the program and deleted it from my machine. Thank you but the free services that Yahoo and Excite offer for TV listings are good enough for me, especially since I use an antenna and do not have HDTV. For those that do, and have cable or dish, they get on-screen listings as well. TIVO users get listings via the device. Given that TV these days has turned into a series of commercials, occasionally interspersed with some real programming (with paid product placement), I have little interest in paying for the privilege of scheduling of advertising. Yes, PBS is included in this. What do you think pledge breaks, auctions, and presentations that sell books and training material at the end are - advertising and infomercials. (Version 0.55)

MACUPDATE ADMIN We can only provide the info that the developer provides us. (Version 0.55)

MACUPDATE ADMIN Have just checked the developer's page for this app. There is not a hint of any cost attached to this app anywhere on that page. How could we at MacUpdate possibly know of any fees? (Version 0.55)
| Aug 26 2007 |
JIMW To clarify. My comments about the 'hidden' cost of use of this product were not aimed at MacUpdate but designed only to be informative and suggest that the developer of the product state the usage cost of the product upfront. While the new costs of use is beyond the scope of the developers control for any otherwise excellent product, nevertheless it is a consideration to users and their decision to investigate this product for their needs. My intent is just to provide such information so potential users can make an informed decision as to it the product is right for them before spending the time and trouble to download and installing it, only to possibly find out that the usage of the product is significantly more expensive than it would otherwise indicate by the information in the description. CMACSW I have updated the download page with the Schedules Direct cost. This information was on the main page under the Bold text Important Information, .hopefully this clears things up (Version 0.55)
| Aug 26 2007 |
MACUPDATE ADMIN I think that information should also be on this page. (Version 0.55)

JIMW I agree with the MacUpdate Admin since that is the url that the link for more info takes you. That said I also believe it also belongs on the Macupdate primary description page for this product as it is most likely a key decision maker for many people. I also find it interesting that the developer is comparing 'apples' to 'oranges' on the costs on the sites home page. The current price is given by the quarter but the 'hope' price is an annual fee. Why not just say what it really is - i.e. $60/yr so people don't have to do mental arithmetic. I suspect the reason is that $15/qtr sounds less expensive that it really is. This may be good marketing but not as informative as just stating the annual real cost for an easy comparison instead of trying to 'spin' it to make it sound less than it really is. It reminds me of the infomercials that advertise payments and the price of shipping, instead of just telling you just what the final price really is. Don't you hate that? I know I do. I just like to know what the product is actually going to cost me so I don't have to do all of that mental arithmetic. That is work works best for me and improves my sense of integrity and trust of the the seller. (Version 0.55)

CMACSW I have provided a link to schedules direct page that describes the pricing information. If you followed the link or read the information on the main page of the site you will see that the goal of schedules direct is to provide the lowest cost possible and that depends on the number of people who signup, so while the cost is $15 for 3 months it may not stay that way. As I said earlier, this is provided both on the main page of the site and at Schedules Direct which is linked off the main page. I will take your suggestion and include the pricing of SchedulesDirect on the page linked from here. (Version 0.55)

TUISHIMI Doesn't work. The application does, but when I create an account on labs.zap2it.com, the account creation in general succeeds, but when it tries to redirect to the setup page it fails. I cannot go back and log in either (same thing happens, login seems to work but tries to redirect to a configuration page and fails.) (Version 0.42)
