DBOAKES I have to say this is the best calendar I came across with Mac. It is easy to use and looks good. Much more accessible then Icalendar. (Version 0.7.2b)

AKROBAT Wow. This has got to be the most useless software I've come across! Tried it out on my PPC eMac running Tiger. Downloaded it and started it up... nice interface etc. Ok, I thought import 1 calendar from iCal and see how it looks. After the import I got an error stating: "Expected Floating Point and Found Something Else". Now the App won't even open. When trying to open it I get: "Problem Accessing Database Encountered. PreMinder Cannot Proceed." ALTER TABLE Alarms RENAME TO oldAlarms: SQLite failed with error 1 (there is already another table or index with this name: oldAlarms)" At the bottom are 2 buttons with a choice of Quit or Report & Quit. Trashed this piece of junk! (Version 0.6.8b)

PERSON1229 Why not do the _right_ thing and contact the developer instead of leaving a one star review based on your experience, or lack thereof. (Version 0.7.1b)
| Jul 20 2008 |
AKROBAT ....because Person1229 that's what MacUpdate reviews are for. (Version 0.7.2b)
| Jul 20 2008 |
PERSON1229 No, you can't review software if you haven't been able to use it. Generally non-launching apps are the users problem, not an error by the developer. (Version 0.7.2b)

AKROBAT Ha, ha. ha. I get it. Took me while... You're the developer of MacDust. Just read through your post history also... should have known. It explains a lot. Ha, ha. Happy Cleaning! (Version 0.7.2b)

MACMAN8 I have a question for the developer: When I imported my calendar from iCal, the only thing which was not included was my alerts. In iCal, I have alerts set for 2 days before each even, which iCal does automatically for me. With PreMinder, I find myself visiting every event, from birthdays to appointments, and having to do this manually. Is there a way I'm missing, or is that wanting too much? (Version 0.5.4)

The .ics/vcalendar import feature does not currently import alarms. I am planning to add this feature in the future, but it may take me a while. The other feature you appear to want is an option to automatically add alarms to new events; again this is feasible but will take a while to implement. As I'm just one person working on this in my spare time, development doesn't quite have the resources the iCal team no doubt have!

MACMAN8 Hey Alec... thanks for the response. I appreciate your efforts, as well as all developers who create applications for us. As a retired and currently unemployed teacher (with NO income), I am very grateful for freeware available that makes me more productive and makes my life much easier. Your efforts are to be applauded.

MACMAN8 I have the latest update, and this is a very nice little program. It has a lot of potential. I too am unable to import calendars from iCal. I'm not sure what we are doing wrong. I'll visit the web site and search for help. Other than that, it's great. (Version 0.5)

Could you tell me if you are getting an error when you import a calendar and what it is? Or does data simply not appear? I will list the steps for getting a calendar from iCal into PreMinder: Go to iCal and select the calendar you want to export. Choose 'Export...' from the 'File' menu. Save the file on your desktop. It should have an extension that is '.ics'. Open PreMinder and choose 'Import Calendar' from the 'File' menu. Select the file you saved to the desktop and click 'OK'. A progress bar will appear in the large date in the palette on the left. Your data should appear in the calendar. (Version 0.5)

MACMAN8 Your directions on the proper manner to Import from iCal were perfect, and yes, it worked perfectly! Thanks for the response. Others need to see these directions too. (Version 0.5)

Thanks for letting me know. Sorry about the lack of documentation, I develop this in my spare time and the documentation has suffered as I have been focusing on getting the software less buggy. I hope to update the website soon with more (and more up to date) information.

MACMAN8 Hey, no problem. You have no idea how much we value the hard work and efforts of developers, like YOU. I'm a retired teacher, who cannot afford much in software, and freeware programs are of real help to a guy like me on a limited income. My Macs run well, stay healthy, and are a joy to work, thanks to all of you! Happy Holidays, and much good luck and health to you in the upcoming year.

MACMAN8 I just installed the new update, and now I am getting an error message, and it will not open at all. Version 0.4.8 worked fine. "Can't specify an empty boundary rectangle" is the message I am receiving. (Version 0.4.9)

The only way I can reproduce this error is with a low screen resolution (800 x 600). Could you tell me what screen resolution your monitor has?
| Dec 7 2007 |
I have now reproduced the bug at a screen resolution of 1024x768 as well. I have just posted a 0.5.0 update which should fix the problem. Please let me know if it works for you,

MACMAN8 Hi Again... My MacUpdate notified me of the lastest version. I'll download it after I return home tonight, and install it in the morning. I'll be happy to let you know after I've installed it. Thanks for the response. It's a nice program, and after I do the update, I'll be happy to write the very good review I believe it deserves. (Version 0.5)

MACMAN8 Hi... I just installed the latest update, and it was fine. I tried it on both of my Macs- a G5 with a 20 inch monitor, and my G4 iBook. No problems! (Version 0.5)

Thanks for testing that, I'm glad to know it is working. Look forward to your review,

MAKAI Looks like a potential alternative, if PandoCalendar won't make it onto Intel. Unfortunately, without support for displaying business weeks, I cannot switch to it right away. But I am still tempted nevertheless. Keep up the good work ;-) (Version 0.4.1)

ALEC_HHC Hi, not sure what you mean exactly by 'business weeks' but if you want the week display to start on a Sunday then you can set that. Choose from menu 'File > Preferences' and click on the 'Appearance' button. You can set whether to start the week on a Monday or a Sunday here. (Version 0.4.2)

FLASH1296 Excellent application. The preferences need to be expanded. The Font Inspector is a quick access feature that I like. Running under Rosetta, on a macBook, I have found one serious bug. viz. I attempted to import calendars from iCal and from uCalendar. It fails and generates a confusing error message re: use of" parentheses" Potential for improvement is there. On Balance this is an A- application. (Version 0.4.1)

O5220803 Nice application! The GUI is aesthetically pleasing and provides a comprehensive interface for all of the calendaring functions. Though still in its infancy, this app. has the potential of becoming an excellent contender for other Mac-based calendars! (Version 0.3.4)
