DESCRIPTION
Platypus is a clay world, shooter action game. The vast, continent-spanning city of Collosatropolis has finally reached the limits of its expansion. Tall buildings cover every available space. The air is thick with smoke and poisonous chemicals. Parking is a nightmare.

The Collosotropolan leaders have decided the simplest solution is to invade the neighboring country of Mungola. They don't anticipate much of a struggle - Mungolans are simple, earthy types without much love for industry. In fact, Mungola's entire defense force consists of a single squadron of fighter planes - the venerable F-27 "Platypus."

But how much of a threat can a few antique aircraft be?

  • Blast your way through four jaw-dropping claymation worlds of incredible shooter action!
  • Clay graphics that are nothing short of incredible. Every graphic was hand-molded with real clay!
  • Two-player simultaneous action.

XMYSTIK  Hi

We did receive your email and we sent a reply out yesterday morning offering a new download link for the game. Along with a choice of a free game or a full refund.

Please let me know if you did not receive the email.

The Mac is a new platform for us and we have had a few little teething problems.

If anyone else has purchased a copy of the game before yesterday, please drop us an email to support@idigicon.com with your shareit order number and we will send you a new download link.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

All the best

Steve.

RLMCKEE  I paid for Platypus, downloaded it... and am extremely disappointed. I can't get beyond Level 1, Area 5... the game just goes back to the beginning (L1,A1). I can't start anywhere but L1,A1. My scores reset, even when I go all the way through. So far, no response to two different emails sent to the company.

RLMCKEE  Thanks for responding.

The game works fine now, though the score still seems to reset, instead of accumulating points.

BAD CYBORG  A Defender game that's very easy on the eyes without resorting to real 3D graphics. The overall feel can be described as Wallace and Gromit meets Parodius.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parodius

Sure, gameplay is a bit stale but the concept alone is well worth the download. Looks very nice on widescreen too. Try it.

XMYSTIK  Hi

Sorry for any confusion over the name. Platypus (the game) has been around since late 2001/ early 2002 though.

In order to make things a little easier I'll arange for a new demo to be uploaded that installs with a modified name.

All the best

Steve.

CAMáN  normnod:

Just to prove my point to you.

I downloaded the app and what happens when I tried to add it to applications?

................

An older version of Platypus exist already in this location. Do you want to replace it?

.................

No, I didn't so I had to RENAME it!

NORM3  And I point you to the review at the bottom of Platypus (the utility) that states that the icon is stolen - really, you are being petty, the two apps are not related in the slightest and it is up to the DEVELOPERS to sort out any problems not you.

If it really bothers you contact retro64 and ask them - don't use the MacUpdate reviews section to further your own agenda.

CAMáN  Who cares what it's called.

Do you really mean that?

Apart from the legal aspect,

would you like to have your product or company name used by someone else.

Why don't you build an app and call it iTunes, so we can see what happens.

Or name it Macupdate and we wont have to see anymore of that type of comments from you.

Am I not nice now?

Maybe so, but do try to understand how important copyrights are to a business.

BALLACK  Platypus is a well-known name for an os x utility for years.

You should really consider changing the name of your game to avoid confusion.

KQED  Reminds me of the Neverhood. Great game, the name is fine. After all its the game your playing not the name, so disregard the comments from the nerds below.
