LotsaWater renders a fairly realistic water effect over your desktop, showing it distorted through the wavy surface of the water as raindrops fall on the surface.
It uses quite a bit of CPU power. There are configuration options to vary the accuracy of the simulation to fit the processing power available.
GOCOLTS18 It works, you just have to install it for a single user. If you install it in the /Macintosh HD/Library/Screen Savers/ folder it WILL NOT work.
Install it in your home folder/Library/Screen Saver/ folder. (Version 1.5)
GOLDYN CHYLD Sorry to disappoint you, but it DOESN'T work. Yes, it works to some extent if you will (the entire screen is BLACK and you can occasionally see a water drop), but to me that's completely useless. As I said in my other post: it's as though I had the Dimming option in Lotsawater screensaver Options set to "Dark", though it's actually set to "Normal." Thanks, but no thanks. (Version 1.5)

GOLDYN CHYLD Ok, a little correction here: it's as though it actually worked, except that the entire screen is black, and thus it looks ugly. (Version 1.5)

GOLDYN CHYLD It doesn't work! (OS X 10.6.4 here) - it's as though I had the Dimming option set to "Dark", though I actually set it to "Normal." Anything that could be done about this? :/ (Version 1.5)
EATYOURSPINACH Please fix the desktop screenshot feature. I'm also using Snow Leopard and it works in the preview, but not when automatically started or with hot corners. This is a great screensaver and I'll be very happy to see this fixed. :) (Version 1.5)
DIMSUM101 same problem, the desktop screenshot doesn't work when activates from hot corner or when the screen saver starts automatically, but custom image works fine. I am using Snow Leopard as well. 10.6.2, iMac 8,1 (Version 1.5)
When Lotsawater starts from a hot corner, or after the time specified in the Screen Saver Preferences, Lotsawater will not use a “Desktop Snapshot”—it will use a blank, black screen. Lotsawater will only work with a “Desktop snapshot” when invoked using the “Test” button of the Screen Saver Preferences.
The “Custom Image” works fine.
2.26 GHz MBP 13" OS X 10.6.2 Snow Leopard (Version 1.5)
MACMGR53 Thank you for updating this for Snow Leopard! Works great with my MBPro and two displays. I always get lots of favorable comments form others when this activates. (Version 1.5)
SHAANDEEN i have to say this is simply beautiful. i'm usually very fussy when downloading screensavers/widgets etc cos i just don't want to clog the system with something i will use once and then just sits in my system. but this one is ABSOLUTELY worth it. it's mezmerising, it's almost hypnotic. yes, well worth it. (and i've set my screensaver to activate in 5 mins just to leave it and have my family go "wow!")... (Version 1.4j)
